Any thoughts about leaving the top down for an extened time (several weeks) on a 1972 Skylark ???? Thanks
i leave mine down all summer unless i park outside,we have tons of pollen.but if i park in the garage i just leave it down.if your top is super tight-fitting,it will be a bit of a pita to get it to latch after an extended period, might need another person to hold it down while you set the latches.
 - that was the first thing I'd do in the spring... put the top down and hit the highway to suck all the dust and dirt out of the car.
Thanks guys was wondering the same thing, I just got a new convert in the Avatar. I leave the boot cover on mine, because it is difficult to pull on and off. Do you thing that extra preassure pushing down on the top hurts anything?
no,not at all.it actually makes the car look good also:TU: nice ride :TU: nothing like a convert during summer, cruise at night, look at the stars.......man!!!!!:TU: ou: bording on an orgasem!!!
I just posted a couple of pictures in my garage with my 1972. This is a 2 year old 3,00 mile frame off restored vehicle with a modified 455 in pulling over 400 HP and a buch more performance goodies and a lots of tourqe. Previous owner claims it is a 12 second car, I have yet to find out I guess you would call it a show quality, stock appearing restomod, and it is really just a super car I like to drive. You are right driving Abody converts is really what it is all about
I learned early on to always have sunglasses (and a scrunchy) in the convertible. Had a "clear" pair for driving at night. Both for dirt, and to keep my hair from smacking me in the eyes. I also learned with long hair it is difficult to drive and chew gum with the top down.
yeah, truzi has that gender in question thing going onou: ive lost a couple of hats driving my convert,if i go without one,i get my head sunburnt.darn middle ageou:
