Buick tri-shield wingnut

Hi everyone,

Would anyone happen to have a Buick tri-shield wingnut similar to the one I attached a pic of for sale?

 

I was watching this one on Ebay and it did not get a bid for 25.00 and no reserve,probably because he wanted 14.00 to ship a 2.00 package and in his description it says shipping will be cheap.......LOL

Yeah, I totally agree - that shipping quote was very high.

 

Where did this originally come from? It must be aftermarket, right?

 

I have one in the wrapper somewhere but finding it would be the issue.

 

:Smarty: The wing nut comes with the GM chrome air cleaner or can be ordered separately from Summit or Jegs. One thing I have found out with my experiences with Summit is that even though the catalog dosen't show it, dosen't necessarly mean they dont have it. There has been plenty of times I have asked on the phone if they have it and 9 times out of 10 they do. BTW there is a larger one as well, which I have on my Buick and it looks nice :laugh: .

i bought one and it holds the air cleaner on nice & tight.

guess it's not 100% factory correct.

Well too bad I haven't been on here in a while, I have one. Won't fit now that I put the correct carb, and air cleaner back on my car.o No: Could have sold it cheap.

 

Jerry Salley, who is a board member, makes some AWESOME aircleaner nuts.
Wildcats and tri-shields. I bought a couple from him at the Nationals.
I would strongly suggest calling him, or pm him from the board. I cant find his number right now. So maybe someone can share that info

How much would one go for? Can't remember what I bought mine for.

 

Here are some pics. If there is genuin interest I'll sell it. If not I'll just make it to fit on mine.

 

For what it's worth, my local speed shop has probably half a dozen of these tri-shield wing nuts, brand new, hangning on a peg at their shop. They were about 10 bucks if I remember right.

 

I think I got mine from year one. But that was like 6 years ago.
