An old friend of mine did the paint and body. He has a paint shop in Lubbock and does great work at great prices. Matched the GSX stripe based on specs I got on this site. He built the hood for us from a donor GS hood and our original flat hood. Paint looks great. He has done several of my cars. Including the 57 chevy you can see in the background.
Very nice Mark. :TU: It's always good to have a friend like that. Goes the extra mile. Is that mug in the pic yours?:kodak:
That's my son. I'm a little older, rounder, and less hair. I really want to get a lift for the barn so I don't have to crawl under these things anymore.
Ha ha ha!! We're all getting a little older and rounder!!!!ou: Can't say less hair though. I got a head full. Not sure why but I do. Sorry bro.:Brow:
Hey Mark, are you a Tyler employee? The car looks familiar to something I saw on the company website... Jeff ~
I am, that was the car. I sell public safety software in Texas/Oklahoma for the INCODE division. Small world....email me some pics of your car.
Mark was going fast with class and delivering a fender and other parts to make a connection in Dallas today. They should make their final trip to StL this weekend or early next week.
I got my son a bead blaster and some professional quality paint, so here is what has been done this week. I've been on the road. Hopefully this weekend, we will finish painting the rear and get the gears set and put it back under the car. Then we go to clean the engine bay.
Looking good Mark. Now I don't know what black finishes your using but may I suggest you get a can of the Grand National semi flat black paint?(SEM) :TU: This stuff is amazing. I'm not a real big fan of real glossy black myself. But use it when appropriate.:boring:
We are using a satin finish black on most of the items. No glossy on anything. We have progressed, but seems like it is slow. Engine won't be finished for a month or so, so we hope to have everything else ready and back together by then. 3:42's and posi are in the diff, and it is almost together and finished. We have pulled everything out from underneath the car, and we are scraping and cleaning and painting the bottom side. New wheels are in and the M/T 12.5 x 28 sportman pro's are on. Suspension parts are here, air bags, rear sway bar, shocks. Also have bucket seats and shifter to get in. Busy around here. Selling a couple of extra cars has helped fund everything. Oh yea. Started thinking about not having a tow vehicle, so today I bought a 2008 Chevy crew cab to pull all of this. Pics for your enjoyment. Therapy for me.
Man oh Man. I have parts scattered all over the place and I had to move some furniture in my barn, so now I don't have room to turn around. So this weekend, I built a 12X20 barn to move stuff in so I have room to work on the Buick. I want to hear it run so bad, and drive it around. Hey, I can dream can't I? Still doing prep work on the underside, and spraying a little paint here and there.
