Didn't Pete do the same thing the last two years. I think he got a couple of Eaton Posi units for having the best reaction times as I recall.....

I think that any one that turns that reaction time and not driving an Aston Martin should be disqualified (or cut in half with a laser.)

Or better yet, has to use a tux for a driving suit and introduce himself by saying "hi my name is Pete, Copo Pete."

Julie Pennington did an .00 something. That's gotta be pure anticipation. The staging lights at Martin were no where near consistant once both cars were staged. I know I waited 3 seconds on several occasions for the ambers. I thought the timing was automatic once both cars staged. No?

.007 on a pro tree is telepathic. Awesome!

Hodges just barely got beat by the red light in his run against Dudek. Had to try something. Dave had everybody covered.

Pete is a magician on cutting down the tree. ....pro, sportsman, etc.

Dave, I had cut a .003 light that morning, so I was feeling a little feisty on that round with Dave. Good tree or not, I got caught up in Dave's "prop wash" with about 200 feet to go. Kind of felt like a tornado passing by......

    .003 is awesome.

At the first FAST race at Norwalk, I was the flagman and ran the tree. Only one person red lighted all day and he did it twice in a very fast yellow Mopar that was all over the track.

I know the feeling of being buzzed by faster cars. Happens to me every year at Stanton. Funny that's never happened at a Martin race.......:Do No:

Thanks guys. My best light on a pro tree was against JJ last fall in VA. I pulled a .0003 for the posi that week-end.
Bob and I have been doing battle for years. Three years ago, he put me on the trailer in the finals. Last year JJ put him on the trailer for the finals, and this year Bob put JJ on the trailer in the semi's! Paybacks are a bitch:Brow:
Bob has been in the finals three years in a row. Way to go Bobby (I know your watching!) I did put Bob away this year, but I know we will do battle again on another track on another day. His MPH is wild.
He still cut a great light of.106, but the fact that I shut down the parking lot a 1;30 AM the night before made me ready for battle!
This year the quick 8 is finally tightning up. I won against Larry with a .006 lead in the end, and was ahead of Bob with a .013 in the end.
    Close ,exciting racing.

Yikes......forgot about that one, Frank. Was very lucky to catch you before you had that dialed in and still almost misjudged you. You sure got big in my rearview mirror in a hurry, especially that first run when you went sailing by in the traps. I see your times now, wouldn't even be close.

    Pete,

Do you think the races are closer with the pro tree than the sportsman? I know you guys don't sandbag at all, but without the tendency to red light as much, you don't have to play it safe as much. Seems to keep you guys in the Fast 8 a lot closer in the way you run. That sure is exciting to watch, imagine it's even easier to experience.

:af: I redlit more last weekend than I've ever redlit with a sportsman tree.
Protree sucks, sorry, not a fan of it at all, especially with a manual trans car.

Tom, is your car rolling, are you deep staging, or are you just that quick on the trigger?

I like the pro tree, but I've always wondered why they choose .500 instead of .400. Just to make sure the really quick people don't have an advantage? :Do No:

Guy's with automatics like the pro tree, people who race the same car year after year after year, might like a pro tree, somebody who redlights on a sportsman tree, might like a pro tree.
    but....
And before I make this statement, I realize it's my own doing.
Try racing a different car other than your own sometime, or race a different car everytime you go to the track, a car that leaves different from the last car you raced, a car with it's own set of little quirks, etc, etc, etc.
THEN, jump into a manual trans car, figure out the clutch engagement, the way the car rolls out, how much pedal you can feed it, which is enough of a job with a sportsman tree, which is what I run anywhere I go. THEN, stage the same car, try to bring the clutch pedal off the floor until the fork is just touching the throw-out bearing, try to place the car in the same spot in the beams(yeah right) and all of the sudden the starting line guy blasts you in the face with three huge yellow bulbs all at once, pop the clutch, bog the motor, or nail it and smoke the tires, or both...Yeah the pro tree is great:rolleyes:
