I know its unlikely I'll find anybody, but anyways. Has anyone made more than 400 HP Naturally Aspirated in a 350 with a 212 cam? If so, post your build!:TU:
sean came close with like 398 hp and 425 ft of torque his was essentialy a stock block 73-76? minus 1000cfm BG carb, recurved distro, and home ported heads...and ofcourse the ta212 cam so all it would take for over 400hp would be all the typical boltons head work with ta's bigger valves, roller rockers and higher comp ratio pistons aka 10 to 1 :beer
Yeah, I've already spoken with Sean. I am going to run the car at the track before we make anymore assumptions to if the engine is down on power. If anyone else has made over 400 HP with the 212 cam, post!:Brow:

I didn't use the 212 cam I used the TA 310 in my small block I don't know the horsepower numbers on it but it went 13.32 in a full weight 69 GS complete with air conditioning. I have that cam home ported heads and TA Intake 10.1 comp. 750 holley double pumper carb TA 1 3/4" headers 2 1/2" exhaust 3000 stall converter and a 3.36 posi rear end. I love this cam sounds awesome when ever I pull into the car show guys say that's gotta be a big block:grin: the down side is you have to have a large converter for it.It comes on later on the small block compared to the big block. that's just my 2 cents I have been following the threads on your progress and would like to say good job and keep up the good work earning the small block some respect I personally would love to twin turbo mine just don't have the funds. Jim, I easily made it to 280 RWHP with the stock intake and ported heads that flow 265/185, but my single plane also made the same numbers. However, with the stock versus single plane on the stock heads made a 20 HP improvement.
The only way to know would be to swap back to stock and check it again since you went to a different dyno. Their dyno may be 20 HP different. Your numbers are very close to what Jim Dyno'd when you figure 20% loss thru your 2004r and drivetrain. In fact, 280 is exactly 20% of 350. People don't race dynos, let the track tell you how good it runs. Dynos are a reference tools that are great for tuning and measuring change with part swaps. :Smarty: I always felt and seen a single plane is weaker unless you are over 240 degrees of duration and can push enough rpm to make them work. It is not always true, but a 350-4 intake works pretty good. Look back and see how much cam Jim B ran on his single plan test with the 350.
