I am selling the set of Buick rally wheels that I had on my car now that I have the custom super sport wheels installed. The set consists of two 15x7 original rally wheels in very nice condition - no rust on the chrome (a few spots on the inner section where the tires mounts - treated with POR-15) and a few small spots of curb rash - I repainted the black sections - great driver wheels. The other two wheels are 15x8 rally wheels with 4.5 inch back spacing that have new chromed rimshells on them - perfect condition and good for show cars. The 15x8 rallys are new and were only on my car for one cruising season. I had 245x60x15s on the 15x7s and 275x60x15s on the 15x8s. No center caps included, though wheels are already balanced with the valve stems. I'll take individual pics of the wheels tomorrow when I get home from work. If you want to see a pic of these wheels on my car check out my post in this link: http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=163167 I'm located on Long Island, NY and the cost of the set is $350. I would prefer pick up but I can drop the wheels off at a local UPS shipping center as well. I also have two extra Buick super sport wheels - one has the original charcoal grey color (I think 14x6) and the other is painted white (I think 14x7) - I'll double check the sizes tomorrow. Price is $25 each.
>>Hi Chris. Do you want both super sport wheels? In 1971 they were only 14x6 but in 1972 they were also available in 14x7. I'll let you know the sizes and will post pics tomorrow.
I just checked the charcoal gray super sport wheel as it is in my basement - measuring from lip to lip it is 14x7 so it is a 1972 wheel. I'll check the white one tomorrow as it is in my garage.
My 71 GS 350 has the Super Sport wheels 14 x 6. I wouldn't mind having an extra wheel or two. I also thought of doing what you did and getting some centers installed in some chrome 15 x7 shells which is sound like would work even with the two different rim widths. Let me know sizing and I will confirm if I want both or just the 71 wheel. Thanks!
>>You are first in line for the set of Buick rally wheels - I will take pics of each wheels tomorrow and will post them here for you.
>>Hi Chris, I'm pretty sure the white painted super sport wheels I have is a 14x6 as it came off a 71 Skylark but I will double check tomorrow for you. If you are going to get the super sport wheels resized like I did with mine then it doesn't matter if the wheels are 14x6 or 14x7 as the centers are the same size - the metal rim is cut off and the centers are welded into new chromed rimshells. In fact, I wrote an article on the making of my custom Buick super sport wheels for the next issue of the Build Sheet for the Buick Performance Group.
>>I would guess around $20+ a wheel. It would be a little bit cheaper if you have a business the wheels could be shipped to instead of a residential address.
Just to clarify on the set of rally wheels - Bob is first in line, Jay just PMed me and is now second in line, and Steve from LI PMed me after Jay so he is third in line.
Here are pics of the set of two 15x7 and two 15x8 rally wheels. The 15x8s have the flat black paint and the 15x7s have a semi-gloss black. The back of the 15x8s are painted silver and the back of the 15x7s were painted black. Please keep in mind that these wheels are dirty and need to be cleaned - the chrome is nicer than it looks in the photos.
Here are the two super sport wheels - I had measured them wrong - they are both 1971 14x6 wheels. The trim ring does not come with the white wheel as the set of trim rings is already sold.
