This repaint of a silver/black to the hugger orange was a little much when first done, but love it now. EVERYBODY with an Olds knows this car.

Yep, not to stray but did anyone ever see old footage of the early Ford assembly line showing them paint the cars?

Looked like a cheap siphon gun but the paint didn't spray out, it squirted out in a solid stream and just ran down and dripped off. And the finish came out looking nice.

Isn't that color the same as Ontario Orange on 71-72 Vettes?

Never was an RPO color till 1972. Perhaps the car is Carousel Red, which wasn't available as an RPO.

My favorite color doesn't appear on my favorite car, but it's gorgeous - Plum Mist!

Free Riviera Sounded like a good deal

I'd give a nod to the car in my avitar...

But, its a older respray in some 70's shade of Caddy green... I'm not even sure that the top is original. Plus, most of you wouldn't even call it a musclecar anyway... (I dig it though:3gears: )

Joe, I feel the same as you. A '65 GS/Lark and a '55/'56 Chebby are on my *short* list to own before the state takes away my drivers license.

Okay, I love this shade of blue. And I LOVE this car. I made this montage from a series of shots when this fellow V8 member sold his '61 LeSabre. I *NEED* this car... :ball:

Silver is not the only colour that I can paint it is just that it is lighter. Here is the Hugger Orange Chevelle.:3gears:

Got my vote here!!!!!!Is it different from Cortez silver? Never seen both side by side. Really like both.

Is it legal to paint an A12 car anything but orange? (Quiet, Lon...:beers2:)

    jjohnston,

I am not intending to harass you, just for political reasons....Hugger Orange was indeed named Hugger Orange for the 1969 Camaro, but on a 1969 Chevelle it was Monaco Orange.

Pretty sure both colors are the same, seems I have looked it up with PPG in the past. We all know Peruvian Silver IS the proper name though....

The Runner is getting stripped right now but don't think it'd look right being orange w/ the jams & underhood being silver.

I love the color of your car, sorry you have to strip it and bring it back, but remember what happened.

Real Deal...that's kinda what I thought, too. Rhonda Clary's car would really look good with a 68 Hurst black deck and striping. One of a kind 69, could probably get in a magazine if you piled the B.S. high and deep while it's still steaming....
