God, don't tell Sean that you will swell his head more than it is already.   JK Sean. Put me down for a copy as I doubt I will have my stock engine in any shape for a book. Tim
The stock 350 is the*basis of this book... I am assembling a manual to take any SBB and make the best with what you have. Secondary is modifications and after-market upgrades. A few of my favorite 350 powered rigs in the Readers Rides Section are the 68-70 Jeep Wagoneers with stock engines. Low rpm torque is where the stock Buick 350s come up ahead of other 350 cid engines.
sean we haven't forgot about you we just want dyno numbers to go with the info we are waiting on a pulley and a belt so we can run it I will have anthony write it up at that point I hope not more than a couple of weeks but I've thought that for 6 months now.
Wow, now if someone would do an intake like that for the 350. It would look bada$$ under the hood of my wagon Tim
I'll make any kind of intake you want! Sean, I too am waiting for better weather, (and to get your car out of my shop) so I can finish the intercooler piping and get some good pics.
Is the book only including vehicles that came with a 350? Because my 65 Thunderbird is getting a SBB, and a rather unorthodox one at that.:Brow:
I should have something boosted by late spring.. If it works, I would like to get my POS in the book..
Sean I applaud you for this grassroots effort, and I am sure the folks on the forum appreciate being involved. I, like my fellow Floridian Joe M., would like to offer proofreading assistance if desired. In return I would expect nothing short of excellence, and for you to answer any, and all, of my inquiries the remainder of your life. :Comp: Honestly, if I am able to assist please do not hesiitate to ask. Scott
I am adding a section for engine swaps, since I think that any vehicle should have a Buick 350 especially trucks.... Keep me posted and send pics and info about your swap. My main focus for the swap section of the book will be covering the swaping of SBB of different variations into various models and years of Buicks, however another part covers the swaping of SBB into Chevy trucks and any other makes of vehicles that pop up. So, yes, please e-mail me pics and info on your swap!
This really is a passion for me, I want to see Buick smallblock powered cars and trucks running the best they can!!! Thanks for your offer, and PM me anytime for advice!!
Iwas attempting to swap a SBB into a 1984 C10. It was really easy and straight forward but ran short on time and got an offer I could not refuse. The SBB would make an excellent tow rig engine, but I was mating it to a SP TH400 with a Gear Vendors OD. It would have been a gas milage machine cause Iwanted to go TBFI as well.......Could of, Would of, Should of.
I was doing the same with a 81 4x4 Chevy truck, but same as you, bought a different truck. Eventually I am going to use a Buick 350 in a Chevy pickup for off road and light towing, I have all the parts ready and the truck is here waiting.
Hey, Im new to the SBB, I got a 300-2 in my new lesabre, and id be very interested in all the info i can find. Put me down for a copy and keep me posted
I allmost put one in an 82 rx7 (buick350/200r4) would of only been a couple hundred dollar swap..but lost my job during that time and both my daily drivers broke..72 buick..91 toyota ...so scrapped it for $$$ still may try it again...
I believe there was another RX on the board with a Buick 350, it was parted out a year ago because the owner was gone with the military.
