Getting the 30 foot Haulmark enclosed ready for the upocoming season !! Anyone use the 10,000 # tie downs from Summit? I spoke to a board member here but he does not have enough orders , yet. Other than tires, light and wheel bearings, what about the break away battery for the emergency brakes. I need to order a new one since the trailer is a 2002/ 2003. I am also looking for an emergency road kit, reflective signs and misc other stuff like the semis use on the side of the road. Thanks. Upstaged in SW Michigan. I will be attending the St. Ignace show in June and the Stage 1 reunion in Hebron Ohio in late July.
Go to E-trailer.com & order the breakaway battery kit with the built in charger. About $50 & it will charge your battery as you drive.
Carry a bottlejack large enough to lift the trailer with the car in it. Carry reflective triangles or flares. Have a wrench or 4-way and gloves to take care of the tires when one goes. That should be a start for you.:idea2:
If you do this, which I would also recommend, be sure to hook up the all-time power from your tow vehicle. If its a factory plug, its already hooked up but will need a fuse installed under the hood. Depends on the truck, GM trucks were like this.
Might I recommend a second spare. I also second the "having of enough jack" to lift the loaded trailer. I used to wonder how people could ruin rims like that but it happens quite fast. No fun at 5:30 in the morning either. Also check the tires that are on there. I caught this at a dairy queen stop about an hour and a half from the house.
