I dont know if you meant to link to the one that I sent you but I believe that link you posted is just for a data logger for actual dynos from what I read, not a software dyno. I was having a hard time getting the ports to light up as the light we have in the bench wasn't bright enough for the camera to pick up. Looks fine in real life but the camera fails at capturing it so hence all the intake port photos, tried to get it as well as I could.
We were playing with the idea of fitting a set of the Rover heads onto my block actually. muwahahahahahaha. my plan comes together.
I don't get it.......I was asking about this a year or so ago and we came to the conclusion that the heads would fit, but the valve train would not line up. I had my own solution of off set rocker arms (for those of you who feel there is no such thing.....look at a 426 hemi rocker setup). Was there a miracle cause it's the same group of guys saying that these heads will now magically fit on a 350 block. To tell you the truth, the 300 would be the best fit for these heads with a 350 crank, SBC rods and late model 3.8 pistons with metric rings. It would be 350ci, smaller, cheaper and woop azz. Please let me know if I'm missing something that would make this happen?
Please let me know if I'm missing something that would make this happen? you're not really missing anything. i've just been tickling TA about this for ... five years? and now they're curious to try it for themselves. it'll be great if it happens. as you say though, we've identified a potentially serious issue.
Oh, good. I thought I was having my first senior moment at 34........I do believe you can do it and offset lifters is not really an issue, a custom cam would be. TA are the guys to make it happen. I have been dreaming about this for a while as well, but want to do the opposite....300 block 350 heads. I think it has more possibilities. With the TA SBB head (215-340) it may be a different story. Just building a stroker 300 would be the optimum and find a Leyland Aussie SP intake.
I do not know the weight of those pistons however I do know there is a huge opportunity for weight savings there. My old TRW pistons were 709 grams and my new Diamond forged pistons are 555 grams.
Uhhhhhmm I weighed them and I cant remember what the difference was I'll have to check again. And we havent done anything yet, the business is more important so my stuff waits. I am done with school now though so I'm going to try to finish up the head work at night so that dad and I can start assembling it after hours. Now I just dont know if I want to use a set of Crower rods we got or still use my polished/lightened stock rods and save the Crowers for a race engine in the future :Brow: I think they were about 60 grams lighter than a stock rod, so a total of 480ish grams saving in weight.
Congrats on finishing school!!!! Tell us more about the crower rods, did you have them custom made? Saving 480 grams of rotating weight would be a huge advantage for reducing stress on the crank, and also letting the engine rev better. I know I am glad I went with light rods and pistons.

Hopefully we'll be able to start new heads in 2 years, depends on how business and the economy is until then :moonu:
So the heads are done, I think they max out around 260 cfm intake and I haven't tested the final exhaust. Otherwise everything is the same with the JE pistons and Crower rods. The engine and then car will go together over my winter break, so as soon as school is out I'll post pictures and specs on everything.
