Looking to see what some of you guys recommend for a Distributor for a Stock Appearing 455. I'd rather not run a points style, but looks are important so want something that looks "stock". .

Lectric limited is the one I just put in my car simple install. instructions said I needed to mod the rotor a little but mine fit perfect with out anything. used the oem wire for connection. They did say not to use high power / voltage coils. stock coil only so far very happy with the system

Couple of questions about the lectric limited. Do you have to use your distributor or do you buy a drop in unit thats brand new? Will this system work with a MSD6AL box?
you use the dist you have and only a stock coil or the module may fail. I would not use it with anything from MDS. A MDS unit would spoil the stock look you are after
Todd, If your not opposed to hiding an aftermarket multi-spark box (they hide well under the driver seat.. :Brow: ) then I can build you a magnetic pickup trigger distributor that will look exactly stock, and have the right advance canister in it that looks stock, but works well with modified motors. Only difference is the two wire connection coming out of it (at the stock location). It's the way to go, with what your building. I would agree with Jim that the Lectric limited conversion seems to be the most stable, that I have run, but we have had some good results with the Pertronix 3 lately.
Jim, Will my vintage 1963 BUICK factory tach work with pertronics 3 MULTIFIRE? Pertronics did not know!
I used a pertronix in the stock distributor to trigger a MSD 6AL hidden under the passenger seat. Works great and really improves cold start running.
Gary, It might, I did not hear from my last customer that he had any tach issues, in a 70 GSX with it.. but your 63 might be different. JW
Todd, I run a Mallory laser unit with a filter. It is a trouble free unit. There are several others in the Pure Stock Muscle Car Drag Races that have used the same unit without fail for several years. A piece of cake unit to put together yourself. Jim

I'd VERY MUCH like to see pictures of that MSD trigger distributor, I'd bet it looks EXACTLY like the ones the guy that did them first do, DAVE RAY, from Dave's small body HEI's. I can then compare them to the distributors Dave has done for me that are MSD trigger conversions. Just interested in what is out there. So far, nobody has stepped up and posted pictures of them.
