Not quite ready. Just sat intake and valve covers on to cover overnight. Should get pan on this morning, and possibly finish up tonight or tomorrow morning, and get ready to set it in the car and get ready to fire.

The engine is sitting in the car now and getting all buttoned up. Should be doing the break in this week.

The engine is broken in. Ran it for twenty minutes for the cam break in. Had no issues.

I am going to spend some time today getting the valves adjusted and getting everything tuned right, however i probably will not finish it, I have to go back to class at six and be there till nine. But ill take some video when i do finsih it! :TU:

    Thanks Sean.
    Its a 950 opa.

I am a proud dad. Tyler paid for all of this himself, and worked with an old friend of mine at our machine shop to get everything correct for the buick. I still get to help though, and I like that.

Had the car on the dyno today. Mostly did some breakin time. I did do a power pull, was a little surprised by the numbers. It did 340 RWHP and 323 RWTQ.

That is way down from what it did last time on the dyno. 376RWHP and 384 RWTQ.

I do have a few things i am going to try. And it might just be that the engine is still a little tight and needs to loosen up with time. I don't know.

What are the specs on the build? How many things were changed compared to the last dyno runs? Same dyno machine?

The only thing that has changed is the camshaft. Same mustang dyno that I ran it on last time. Although it is a new dyno program. I did notice that the weight and Hp @ 50 #'s are set a little different. Maybe that has something to do with it. I am also running a lot less timing. I am going to try and bump up the timing tomorrow and see if I get a good result.

Do you have lower compression then the earlier buildup?

Set the timing on 32 degrees, check the carb jets, put 77/78 in front and 87 jet in the rear and try again what the numbers are.

Yeah, I would not be too concerned... I am sure that between the new program and the timing you are back where you were before.

Either way i am not worried about the dyno #'s to be completely honest. I use it mostly for tune. I did figure out that the 5 year old valve springs are floating at around 6k rpm. So I am ordering some new valve springs.

Compression should be just about the same, if not a little higher. I have the timing set at 34 degrees. It seemed to run better there. The carb is tuned perfectly, no need for a jet change at this time. I'm not sure what jets are in it now.

Well here we are getting ready for the race season. Took the car up to the chassis dyno to get some tuning done, and to get the nitrous workin on it. Took a couple videos.

I ended up doing 409 RWTQ and 417 RWHP NA

and with the nitrous I was able to push 552 RWTQ and 540 RWHP.

My instructor was telling me that that was the highest amount of any car that has been on the dyno. We have had some diesel pickups push 1000 ft/lbs but those are diesel trucks.

Im ready for race season now all i have to do is change rear gears to be able to run it through the 1/4 mile. On the simulation on the dyno I ran out of RPM and didnt want to hit the rev limiter so i let off at 1000' and still coasted through to a 10.53 at only 119 mph. Id like to see what it can do actually running through the traps.

Great #'s Tyler what rpm did u hit on the sim @ 1000ft? What gear are you running and what will you change it to?

The 1000ft was about 6500 rpm, and the rear gears are 4.10, I really want to keep the rpm below 6500 to make this engine last probably gonna go with a 3.42 gear.
