Cut it up and make a new one! Have to cut the lark hood next and the welding starts. I'll keep posting progress. Thanks for looking! RIV

Cool! That cowl hoodscoop strangely resembles a dustpan...

    Great work, Joe!
Now you've given me an idea to practice on a few extra hoods, like yours, that I have laying around!

That dustpan is prostock's newest thing! I filled that pan 7 times with paint and bondo dust.Whom ever fixed and painted that hood should go to jail! at least 1/2 in of bondo on the smashed part and 6 paint jobs so it was time to put it to rest and live on clean hood. Thanks RIV:TU:

Good luck with the project. The "GS" hood on my '72 is actually a Skylark hood with the GS hood scoops grafted in from a beat up real GS hood.

Are you grafting that onto a 70 Skylark hood?

    GStage1 Always looking for parts!

Just so you know....a 70 Skylark hood has a different front lip/section than a GS hood.....so you should put the GS scoops in a 71-2 Skylark hood....otherwise if you put the scoops in the 70 Skylark hood....will look strange.

Well i took george's advice and scraped the 70 skylark hood for a 72 so it will look like a real gs hood when done. Thanks for the wake up george!Just have to be real easy with the welder and grinder so not to warp it.thanks for lookin.RIV

Don't use filler to fix those imperfections. Get a torch and braze it. :TU:
