TV, ID channel, The WIll: Family secrets....Joan Crawford story. You'll see the 53 buick in two different scenes. That 53 Buick blue is a color I have been seeking with a passion. Can anyone offer info on that color? I think I have narrowed it to Tyler blue by the process of elimination. ANY PICTURES OF TYLER BLUE 53'S.
The 53 Buick in the ID channel documentary of Joan Crawford was darker than the samples shown above. The old car was perfect in every way and I assumed it to be original color. I don't know where to go from here. Thanks guys, if you have darker examples, I'd be delighted to see them. ....53's are truely classics.
I don't recall the letter designation or the marketing name (which changed year to year for a given color) I'll post the color name and letter designation tomorrow. It's cold and dark out there right now! Does this look like your color? 1955 Buick, repaint of original color;

My latest pictures are not too good. The Imperial is so dark it looks black, the only other blue in the chart I have is the Teal.
THANKYOU....THAT 55 BUICK IS RIGHT ON!! Good work, bulldog Soooo what is that 55 color???? breakin11, Is you 53 Roadmaster a for sure code 59 tyler or a repaint of questionable color? Also you said the top is darker. There should be two paint codes. The chip charts make the tyler blue look relatively dark. but chart chips can sometimes fool us.
Honestly, I have no idea about the car. I know my Dad, Uncle, and Grandpa restored it in the '80s. I'm pretty sure both are original to the car but I have no idea when I'll see it again. Louie
Thanks! The codes changed from numbers to letters, sometime between 53 and 55, and, the names change from time to time, too. The 1955 code for mine is; BFF B=Dover White; top F= Colonial Blue; middle F= Colonial Blue; lower The photo in my avatar is of an old 35mm from 1980, the hue of the old photo is incorrect. (I'm changing it) The present color was matched by the painters from underside of the trunk lid, which wears the factory paint.
