Looks like I need a outlet on the drivers side. Anyone have a suggestion on to were I should get one at?
Are you looking to stay with a stock setup, or go to an aluminum aftermarket setup? I just went with a universal aluminum setup from Jegs, I believe for a Ford/Chrysler. Once I got my other cooling issues resolved, it has worked great, cheap too.
The car is a 66 special deluxe with a 425 from a 64 riviera. I'm really just want whats best for my money and one that will fit with little or no modifications.
I think $160 something? I just had a multitude of issues. The shroud I was using with the electric fan wouldn't allow the radiator to cool at speed. I had a bad thermostat. I also needed to fab up a few air deflectors so all the air was forced thru the radiator, and not around it. It will run 170-180* on the highway, and will creep up to 190* or so idling thru a cruise in, and that's on a hot & humid summer day.

I'm using a Griffin 1-26242-X in my red '66 GS. 1" wide tubes. $180 from Summit: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/GRI-1-26242-X/ Griffin also has a thicker version avail with 1-1/4" tubes. It's pn 56242 for $270. I got the car back on the road this past spring with a fresh 401. With a 7 blade GM fan, it's never gotten over 180 degrees, even in 98 degree summer days. Use a Gates 20704 upper hose.
a decent rad shop can solder a new outlet/inlet, etc on to your existing radiator. they can also take it apart and clean the channels with rods, if it isn't so corroded that it is beyond help. i haven't had any trouble with the stock rad in hot weather and running the AC.
I couldnt find a radiator for my 65 Gran Sport, so I got one for a 67 GS and had my shop swap out the tanks from my old radiator. It's a MUCH thicker core and with a 7 blade thermo clutch fan it runs very cool, full on summer, at the track, etc..

I'm running a Derale Series 7000 cooler. I think it has a GVW rating of 15000lbs, so it should be more than adequate.
Walt nice info on the radiator swap. How much work did you have to do on the insulators to make them fit and line up with the tanks. Looks like the upper on the cap side is not on the tank, how did you handle that? Are both the upper and lower outlets the same size as the stock one? What lower hose did you use? thanks Bill.
