I have a '71 convert with a pearl white interior. Has anyone had any success dying white pearl interior pieces? Thanks
x3 After a while pearl white just doesn't come clean! I had a notion of going to black seats after 14 years of white.
X4 does anyone have any info on the success with dying interior items white?? Does SEM make a pearl white , i see a plain white on their color list how close is this to the pearl white?? My 71 convert interior is turning yellow in some areas and short of replacing everything I am considering a dye job.
The steering wheel and horn button were red when I got them. The seats were pearl white. I used Dupli Color Vinyl and Carpet dye. I have had very minimal peel on the drivers seat where the material bunches and pulls but it is hardly noticeable. The steering wheel and passenger seat have no issues at all.
So, how are the dye jobs holding up? I'm debating doing this to my 68 and was wondering if anyone using the SEM products has noticed any peeling or rubbing off/staining clothing now that it's been a year or more since some of you did your dye jobs? Thanks
Everything you see in the first pic was dyed with SEM Bright White. The second pic shows the front seat which was recovered with Legendary covers. In person you can't tell the difference, in the pic though you can see there is a slight shade difference.
Thanks for the pics. I would (most likely) plan on going black in mine. On another note, what brand of 3 point seatbelts did you go with and how do you like them?
The belts are from http://www.morrisclassicconcepts.com/ . They fit pretty good, and the shoulder belt doesn't dig into your neck for me at least (6 ft.)
Starting the interior resto on my '71 convertible with Pearl White int. Regrettably, I can no longer see your pics. Any chance of re-posting them? Has anyone had any luck fining the correct Pearl white dye? Thanks
