What To Do With A Rusty Beat Up Gs Hood!!

Ive got a plan to do this! These pix are a great help!

I need to get myself some gs hood scoops to put on my 71 skylark hood, I bet it would be a lot cheaper then buying that aftermarket fiberglass hood.

Really nice!!!!! I always wanted to do this, but raise the roof of the scoop up about 2 inches.

 

Doing the same project with the 3M glue. No need to worry about heat:idea2: :idea2:

 

I am not good at pic alt but this is something I wish someone could do.

The hood looks great. I'm getting ready to do the same thing to my sons 71. I bought a scoop section from ebay last week and hope to start on it soon. Any chance you can help me out with the measurements for where the scoops go? Distance from rear of the hood to the rear of the scoop opening would help me alot.

Cost is pretty darn close in my area when comparing grafting a section into a regular hood vs buying the fiberglass hood on ebay. My concern was mounting issues with the hinges, and trim on the fiberglass vs steel.
Some shops I inquired with also said if the job wasn't done right you would know you were grafted over time. Guess that how they justified their price.
