For a 350 Buick this is pretty impressive considering the lack of aftermarket parts. The entire rotating assembly was all custom order. No aftermarket heads and only 1 aluminum intake equal to a Edelbrock Performer.

    Motor Breakdown:
350 buick stock 2 bolt main block 3.830 bore x 3.85 stroke (stock configuration) All ARP Studs throughout-60-80psi oil pressure running 50w Redline stock oil pump.
Custom Eagle crank, Custom rods by Childs and Albert, custom forged J&E Pistons 8.5 comp
Custom Roller Cam-246/260@.50 .578/.600 112LC installed straight up.
850 CSU Carb and Hat 80/88 jetting on final pull
    Aeromotive A1000 regulator
Race air-to-air intercooler w/ a 125 mph fresh air fan in front.
    Headers are 2" tubes - 21" long - 4-2-1 merge into 3.5" x 4.5" megaphone 5" long.
Port IRON BUICK HEADS 290intake/200exhaust 1.6 Roller Rockers
    Cometic gaskets
Ported STOCK IRON 4BBL INTAKE with plenium milled out
    5" carb spacer

2 different ATI superchargers were used:
    D1 Procharger
F-1 Procharger- Chevy cog adaption. Drive: 8" & 6.75" Blower: 3.5" down to 2" in 1/4" increments. 8" and 3" were the most used up to 16psi.

Motor, N/A Hp and torque numbers were mid 5's NA and the graph pretty much went flat just over 5800.

    First Combination D-1:
    838.5 hp @ 7100
    674 tq @ 6000
    12 psi.

    Boost to 15psi (overspinning blower)
    881.1hp @ 6950
    711.1tqe @ 6105

    Second combination F-1C:

950 hp/ 731 trq. Ran it up to 7200rpm on PUMP GAS!! 20psi
upper 900's with more tuning on following pulls......

on the seventh and final pull w/race gas and 20psi:
    1021 hp @ 6800
    808 ft. lbs. trq. @ 5750!!!

After watching a video of the monster 350 this was the posting:

This engine was put into a Camaro and ran 8s in the quarter!

Yeah that engine was used to dyno test my Custom sheet metal intake vs a ported TA. It was 551 hp and is inside a 73 Regal right now. We should hear more about this car this summer.

Sean, nice to see this info. Looking forward to your finished project. I have been killer busy and not getting any car stuff done. Did get to take the NSS car to Bowling Green this past weekend for the NMCA race. Was suposed to have met a torqure convertor guy there to get one fixed correctly for the Regal. He didn't show up. Got to get a set of tires on the 67 and solve a Harlan Sharp rocker shaft problem. Did have the owner of Quick Fuel come by and offer to redo the 950+ cfm carb of his I was running on the Regal. Said he would change the main body to a light, smaller cfm setup that may help the convertor some too. Still hoping to get the cam in it before they stop racing around here.

Simply amazing quarter mile run, its jawdropping to think of 455s running those times, for an SBB its simply unbelievable. This is full on proof that if you have the dedication the SBB can be built to any power level you desire.

Does anyone know if the recent video from BPG on the V8buick facebook group page was a run with this engine or was that the bigblock?

Hi guys- actually the motor is in my 76 Regal and is running and has been on the road for testing- its Wicked. Car is almost done except for details- Honest- I should have it in a couple of weeks, and then if I can get a hand, I'll share the pics of the entire build.

I think you are thinking of Bobb Mackley? I am pretty sure his car currently has an aftermarket Buick style engine about 500 cubic inches, not sure though:

Bump.. Will it be another procharged Buick 350 to hit 1021 HP or will it be a turbocharged 350?

depends if someone gets on the ball.. but it'll definatly be easier to do it with turbos

Anyone know what the weight of that camaro was? 1000hp in an a-body is roughly low 9's isn't it?

It was a really light tube chassis car that was normally in the 8's with a BBC... I think he said about 2800 pounds

Also they did crank up the boost after the dyno runs so the power was more than the 1021 HP.

I called Eagle who made his and it started a HUGE ordeal due to the crank being made under the table... Needless to say I was not abel to get a crank from Eagle.
