So, I saw a post on the Pro-Touring site about keeping flash rust away. A couple responses suggested that this Gibbs Brand penetrant is right up there with sliced bread! http://www.pro-touring.com/showthread.php?78743-Keeping-flash-rust-away I searched here and found a posting in 2006 by Walt K, but nothing more: http://www.v8buick.com/showpost.php?p=720841&postcount=11 Anybody using this stuff?
Joe we buy the Gibbs by the case:TU: . I am beyond happy with its ability to penetrate rust. I am even more happy with its ability to keep my raw race chassis clean and rust free. Good product. If you need a supplier let me know.
John, Let me get in touch with the South FLorida guys to see if a group purchase is in order. (Curtis, let me know if you want in too.) Thanks,
If John (or someone else) can get a case close to $100 to $110 that would be great and I would be in for that.
Curtis, Where did you find those tires? I would be interested in either style....wow! Ps the GB penetrant looks like good stuff. I use a dry graphite flim lubricant spray on all raw metal parts and black oxide fasteners. it seems to work. Does the Gibbs penetrant attract dust?
:beer not mine man. I was just showing what the stuff can do, those pix are from the Gibbs page http://www.roadsters.com/gibbs/#intro
I'd like to see pics from someone not selling the stuff. Those pics are pretty good but the different tires means it's not exactly a before and after scenario.
Yes, I noticed that right away...I think they are just showing the before and after of the wheels. Also, I'm thinking the later tire might be a repo?
The price per case for me is $105.00 and it would be about $15.00 to Fla. so $120.00 shipped to you. It comes out to $8.75 a can:TU: or $10.00 a can shipped (per case breakdown). You do not need to load an area for it to work like some other product. The nozzle is also very control-able :Smarty: . Let me know.
Great deal John! Just checked eBay.... I'm seeing $131 for a case, shipped, or $48 for 4. I sprung for a 4 pack...I seem to have issues with long-term storage of aerosols. Wish it was avail in liquid form.
You and me both BAMMAX. One's a 5.XX 15, the other's an 8.XX 15! Two different wheels, entirely, to fit those tires. I just want to know how it got the scratches out! pssh.
