Hey George, Yes up to a certain point But when you start hitting bigger CI force induction is needed to make up the difference of cylinder head flow .
Hey Eric how u been man,is TA looking to make a set to support big cubes does anyone know?it be great to have a 600 ci street motor!
Yes, George, TA has the plans for a big chief style cylinder head on the drawing board, but it's certainly going to be a race oriented piece, so it's unlikely there will be any cast intake manifolds that will fit it.. just like the STG 4 stuff, it will require a sheetmetal intake. It will take several years I am sure to see these heads. While the current stuff will run out of air for ultra high rpm stuff, a set of CNC ported STG 2 TE's will make more power on a big motor, than you could ever use on the street. Torque with the big motors is awesome, and that's what your after for a street setup. The 12.75 comp E-85 555 I just took off the dyno is up almost 50 ft lbs from previouis 494 builds, and just 15 lbs shy of Sweesy's utra exotic 15-1 compression race motor. And the new 555 had far from maxed out heads on it. 740 torque is a lot of power, and the big motor idles pretty well, even with a 270* roller, on a 108 centerline. Tomahawk blocked street motors are all about the cool factor, and they are that. If you really need 1000 HP on the street, well, it's only a procharger away. JW
The new TA catalog mentions the family wagon has the prototype stage 5 heads on it. Last I heard they were trying to decide if that project was worth finishing. Maybe those are the heads that'll end up on the super big motors.
Jim thank you for the info, what i`d really like to get is about 750 hp to the rear wheels street car,is that acheiveable with TA heads and Alum big cube block without power adder?
I'M Great George, car is going to the body shop this summer will be done by winter and yes i have a Tomahawk block In the plans
