I hate to say it, but in 5 or 10 years, that will sound cheap. I had a chance to buy a set of NOS Stage 2 heads in the GM box for $4500. That was a ton and a half for them back then. Now? I'd buy them in a heartbeat and thank the guy. On the other hand, what do you do with it? Hang it on your wall? Buy it for bragging rights? Because of the value and rarity, it ceases to be a car part for me. For six large, do you really bolt it on an engine?
In one word . . . yes. It was built to be used; therefore, you use it. I hate to say it, but people that look at rare parts like that as an investment are not in it for the experience, just the money. Easy to say when I'm on the other side of the fence, I know, but people that have money on their mind are not hot-rodders. That's all I have to say about that.
Cool piece, but unless you're running full bore motor with a stick, it's more showy than anything else. Automatics don't like these set-ups. Having Alfa Romeos, Webers are great carbs, but it takes a lot of tweaking and experimentation to get them to run well together. Once you have the intake, finding the right carbs, lines, linkages and setting it all up will make the Qjet look like a winner, which it is. I wouldn't buy it as a wall-hanger, myself. Dan
If I had money coming out of my ears I'd run it, but not with carbs...EFI instead: http://www.compperformancegroupstor...re_Code=IN&Category_Code=XFIEightStackSystems Devon
Was a set up at the nationals few years ago Marv I believe is his name was a mechanical I jection deal but webbers could be used instead
Ran across this vintage photo of a weber setup installed in a '67 GS400. I don't have any additional info to add but it's a cool looking engine.

I have a customers car in my shop right now that has the 48mm Webers on it. It's a 1967 Shelby GT500 with an early replacement 427 side oiler. He may be very interested in selling the Webers and or the Holman Moody intake. It would fit the Ford FE family, (390, 428, 427). Anyone looking for a set, just let me know. They would look killer on a 455 restomod!!
