The Cat is looking fabtastic. This isnt just another car build.. it is obviously a labor of love. :beer
Well,i did get the grille extensions and headlamp door polished and detailed. This has been the summer of my dis-content......nothing has went right.....then i lose my younger brother Garry two weeks ago......just BOOM.....he's gone I have now dedicated the finishing of this Wildcat to him......and when this 'Cat goes somewhere,Garry goes with us :3gears: More soon....... Peace WildBill
Sorry you lost your brother. I lost someone very close. He loves the air bags on my car and I sense him riding with me all the time. Garry will be there pushing you on. BTW, I love your work. Keep it up.
All I want for Xmas is a Wildcat challenge update!! Im hoping to see your car in person sometime over the summer Wildbill. And I am sorry to hear off all the hardships you have endured lately.
Thank you to all for your kind words and condolences. This Christmas is a tough one.....my brother was just getting his life back together......i now realize he was a stronger man than we all imagined......he had to have symptoms of his heart problem......he just toughed it out.......it's now a little after mid-night and i wish i could just have a few little more time with him.......to tell him all the things i never really got around to.....that he was a wonderful brother and that i loved him. Peace WildBill
Well......i blew the dust off these photo's of just a little progress My friend Bill machined out the small square hole on the retractor belts so they will work with the buckle ends that use the large hole .........i like that better than loose belts flopping around. Hung the core support to check positioning of the shroud/radiator/fan.......only to notice that the tanks have been put on the radiator core wrong causing it to sit at an angle. That causes the core to be too close to the fan shroud lower mounting tab on the passenger side.I returned it to Punchy's Radiator shop here in town and he flipped the core correcting his mistake :TU: Check the core at an angle :eek2: Thanks to Vito Dascoli(wildcatrivi) for the super nice torque converter cover and the transmission dipstick and tube........ And also to my buddy Scott Palmer(SP4SPD) for the really nice 7 blade 20-inch fan :beers2: More soon......this 'Cat needs to get done ! Peace WildBill p.s.....for you "proof readers  " out there.....i need two of the little silver ends for the seat trim......can anyone help ?
Hi Bill, Sorry to hear of your brother. Pull up a stool, crack a beer in the Cat`s Lair and have a good chat. It`s never too late! As usual you are teaching me something, now it`s seatbelts. Never noticed the difference in the ends. What year spread? If the large holes are not original why are you using them? Just curious, maybe I missed something... Dont they make the silver seat trim ends in repro? They make the lengths of trim, right? The Cat looks great BTW... Have a good Christmas, Tom Mooney
Tom....yes, i will have a good chat with him. He was cremated and he will be with me until i am not here no more. The belt are the originals that came in my California car. The retractors are from the same year but a Flint car.I may have been able to find the right retractors but i had those and just had my buddy the machinist modify them. As for the bullet ends for the seat trim.....yes, they make repo's but they are NOT formed right.....TOO big and are NOT chrome plated......anyone need a set of 4? Thanks for the comments on the 'Cat.......when you gonna visit the 'Cats Lair ? Peace WildBill
Hi Bill, So if I am understanding properly the belt ends are different depending on which assembly plant a `66 Wildcat was created? Hmm...I have several as you know, only one built in CA and unfortunately the belts have already been changed. Cool info.. A trip to the Cat`s Lair is in order. Maybe if we get another weekend like this I`ll bring down one of the Kittys. I have one I think you will find very interesting! :3gears: As always, thanks for the info Bill, Tom Mooney
Oh so close WIld Bill, I think we may need an update - maybe an update on Blackie...only thing I have done is get repro Custom Bucket seat covers through Then And Now...
Cord -but its not my garage, its at Antique Auto Shop since I have no skills at completing projects and they do...
