Here's a picture of my 63 cat motor. Does anyone know how to put on the spark plug covers with this type of alternator bracket?

Here is a 66 engine for a 65 Wildcat: Stock bottom end, 66 q-jet intake, big valve Faso heads, TA shorties...

 

What are you putting this in?

 

The only thing I've done since this photo was taken is polish the manifold and add Sanderson block-huggers....

Here's what my 25 year old topless girlfriend sees when she stands up while we're driving down the beach in Galveston. She says she'll only go topless if I drop the top and pull the hood off. Here's mine - 63 Wildcat. I went for a "phantom" super Wildcat look.

There's a guy in Detroit who makes brackets for mounting spark plug covers. You'll need four additional head bolts with the stud on them. The bracket bolts to the stud and then you use a bolt through the cover that screws into a u-nut on the bracket.

Here is one of our single Nailhead car yesterday at Speed World in Phoenix AZ.. This is a 425 alcohol/nitro injected combo with a BTE shorty power glide, and 3400 stall TCI converter.
We will get the last of the plumbing done next weekend in Las Vegas and then we can have some fun:3gears: .

 

Sorry for resurrecting a 5 year old thread, but does someone know where the prototype turbo nailhead resides or have any specifics on the carbs/turbo used? I'd like to recreate this turbo set-up for my Wildcat. I design turbos for Borgwarner and have access to the "right" people :grin:

I have just purchased (still waiting for delivery) "Hot Rod" Magazine from May 1970 that has an article on Buicks Experimental engines. This may provide you with some useful information. It has the turbo engine on the cover.

i just got a copy from Ebay myself, which got the wheels in my head turning. I have done this sort of thing (replicate rare or prototype parts) for motorcycles before, but this would be quite an undertaking. I'd like to get my hands on the real engine long enough to get detailed pictures and measurements. I also am looking for a running 401 CID Wildcat low compression engine with 2 barrel carb for a test mule and fit up.
