Sorry Diego, borrowed your post heading. This 58 kept me occupied over the winter, but it's time for something different, and I'm thinking it would be fun to put together a 62-65 Dodge or Plymouth B-body to whoop on some poor old Chevy's,Fords,Buicks, etc. Neat old drag car for someone to play with >http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?267276-1958-Pontiac-Chieftain-Drag-Car-Barn-Find Tell someone you know looking for a worry-free toy. No wash mitt required, no waxing, drive it to work, drive it to the grocery store, no worries about a door ding, people will be afraid to park next to you.
Dang Tom,i was hoping to see that thing!!! I love 58,s! Good thing you don't trade wives like you do cars, you would be one bamf!!!!!
Knowing Tom's history with cars, I knew he wouldn't keep it long, but I was hoping to see it at the Meltdown Drags at Byron this year.
If you want a Mopar, find a '65 Belvedere I and build a 426-S with an automatic and let's see how fast it'll run. The exhaust manifolds suck, but it's basically the precursor to the 440 Super Commando. Another neat car would be a '66 D-Dart, although I think they came with headers from the factory and that may/may not pose problems with the rules.
D/Dart wouldn't be allowed as that was sold to racers only and not a regular production vehicle. All were white with red interior. http://www.supercars.net/cars/435.html not sure about the headers, but I believe they were a "headers in the trunk" item.
I'll be happy if I can find a nice 383 4bbl car, with decent paint and a reasonable asking price.ray: Lowered the price on the rustic warrior
sure you wouldn't prefer a Ford? there is maybe a good 2 weeks work left in minor details, then you could race it once, then sell it I'll make you a good deal, and you can pretend it has poorly closing doors and wind leaks like a chrysler product
:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh: May/may not??? uzzled:uzzled:uzzled: ---------- Post added at 07:29 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:26 AM ---------- My 66 442 L69 almost got away from me last week, now having a bunch of nickel/dime details ironed out..probably still sell it sometime this year. Something's gotta go... Wish I had a pic of my 58 Chieftain that I drove to work at Olds Engineering for a year or two. Spanked many a 442 after work with that one. PINK and WHITE!!!!!!!:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:
O.K. Time for this to find a new home. $6200, final price drop. VIDEO> https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=yWuCt5sTBR8#!
