"Tom" at Scat, is having the guys working to use a 4340 sbf raw forging, to fit Rover/sbb. All legit. Cheers, roverman.:Brow:

It sure would be cool if we had some alum heads and we could make some even larger numbers!

After six months at Scat, they have determined a sbf raw forging, will not work. That leaves "billet" ! I sure could use a sbb crank print. Anybody ? Thanks, roverman.

    >>Velasco, Scat and Marine Crankshaft all quote "exactly" $2,800 and 8-10 weeks to complete,(Rover). I'm suprised Mike at TA has none. Who has a crank drawing ? Cheers, roverman.

We can make a billet 4340 crankshaft good for a 1000+hp
We would make them from E4340 TIMKEN cost $2200.00 to $2500.00 any stroke and bearing combo , time 12-14 weeks.

    From Joe @ Moldex crankshaft

    Mike,,

Yes we can make a 4340 billet for your Buick. We can do any stroke rod main combo you like.

    Price starts at $2750

Chris from CNC Motorsports can alsomake a 4340 Chromoly billet crank...$3250 10-12 weeks

Interesting news, I still want to get Eagle to make my crank as their crank worked well in Bill's engine.....

I thought the heads were what cracked, due to the siamese exhaust ports.

Well I am sure he could find you a block in his area and it would save you a **** ton of shipping money... Send him your goodies and the heads and let him work his magic. I was talking to him the other day on the phone and he was really really surprised with how well the 350 that they built worked out! Not sure if you heard the story yet or not but anyways here it is if you do nt already know.

I knew that Bobb at Finishline was doing some really great things with the Buick 455, making them live at levels that most 455 were grenading.... So I was talking with him one day on the phone and he said that his son was turning 16 and he was going to help him build a street strip 455.. Nothing too powerfull as it was to be his first car, just 550-600 HP. I suggested a 350 and he laughed at me and said that when he looked around his shop all he saw was big blocks so that was what they were using... Well I got off the phone, looked up a running Buick 350 for sale in the Michigan area and made a deal with a guy to yank the engine out of his 68 Jeep Wagoneer (yes it was factory) and deliver it to Bobb.... Well he was pretty surprisedto see the little baby engine at his shop but he reluctatly decided to have his kid build it.... Armed with the info and suggestions I gave them they went to work and Anthony (Bobb's son) just 16 years old machined and built his first engine. Yes he had some help and guidance but he really did build this himself while he was in highschool. As you guys all know that engine ended up at 369 cubic inches using some stuff they scrounged up, anthony ported the heads and (left a lot on the table according to Bobb as he chuckled)... It made 421 HP at 8:1 compression using a restrictive TA intake, mild cam, etc.... with just a few PSI it was over 600 HP so it surprised everyone except me me....

IN exchange for the core engine I got the inside scoop and R&D for my upcoming book where the never before released details of the engine will be explained....

So, I am assuming the engine is a dead issue anymore??? Where is it and why isn't someone doing something with it?As with Rob Margel's 350. It seems like an old wives tale now.I considered ding a 350,but will stick with the 455 proven motors. All my 350's are for sale and if they aren't gone by spring, they will be leaving my possession..I have 4-6 motors that need gone now.I will kep only 1 spare for my 73 GS 350 car.Kinda sad the 350 idea didn't go anywhere...:(
