Hi Guys After buying a set of reproduction 70-72 GS hood plates and having them warp, we decided to look into the possibility of making them out of aluminum. With the help of my friend's at JH Restoration here in Windsor Ontario we started the design working off an original set we borrowed. We took all the measurments on a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) to get the exact dimensions. After a couple sets we now have a product we feel we could offer to the members. Attached are some pics of the warped reproduction and our new product. We would like to know if their is any interest from the members to have these made. Price will be based on the quantity. We will offered them plain and black powdered coated. Right now we are only making them for square foam style. Please respond back to the thread so we can tell how many members would be interested. Hope you like them. Thanks Leo
NICE! I realize you have development & design, tooling, labor and PER PIECE costs,...so I think it would be helpful if you post what price range do you think you will offering?? Wheelz, Tampa Bay
Guys Looks like we are getting good interest alteady. Trying to get the price posted asap. Our tool shop is working on the pricing. I know I'm the sucker who paid the big bucks for the first set with all the tooling charges!!! Thanks Leo ---------- Post added at 12:50 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:24 PM ---------- Guys Something else were going to tease you with. We are working with Vintage Air on the brackets needed to mount the Chevelle system on the Buick 455. We have a prototype made and so far everything is working well. Belt aligning is the biggest challenge but it looks like we have that solved. We hopefully will have 2 cars soon ( Including mine) with a working system to show you. More to follow on this project. Have a great day!! Thanks Leo
