Any one can now have good flowing heads for 400-455 cu.in. Buick's ( These will be solid castings for race only). We are now starting on the 450 to 600+cfm head. This will be the next generation for Blown or Turbo-charged and monster Buicks to 700 plus inches. Pictures will not be posted and a hand built intake will be needed. Every one already knows what a TA ST 2TE head looks like, Just picture a bigger intake port. The rest of the work is inside, and who wants to look inside you body?????
The day we sell a set of these it would be possible for anyone to duplicate them. I spent 1000's and not just a few getting to where we are at. I would probably build several sets with full price deposits at the same time. Not just one set. Also I am working with TA on all of my projects. He may not want this exposure. Since we are already working on heads we can port from 400 to over 600 cfm, people may want to wait for those. They will take a different cam, headers, hand built intake. These will not be for the faint of heart and are for race motors like Pro Stock, Blown Alcohol or Nitro, 500-800 cu. in. monster motors. You may actually be able to put these on a street motor. We can hand build all the parts to make this happen.
What's in the mix for the guys that need water jackets? What kind of #'s could we see with water jackets?
Maybe someone with experience can move this Thanks! ---------- Post added at 12:14 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:03 AM ---------- If we can work this out with Mike he can cast them with new water jackets. Someone with a mill could do this but you will probably have to gun drill a hole through them also??????? These will accept all existing Stage 2 head parts but a new manifold will be necessary. I haven't looked if an SP2 could be welded to make it work. You may need to use different spacers in the rockers but Jessel or T&D rockers could be used. All these should be purchased through TA Perf. So each application will work correctly. ---------- Post added at 12:15 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:14 AM ---------- [
I am no expert on casting heads but I would think that it would be big money to try and design and cast a head around exsiting intake and exhaust runners, it would be like build a new head from scratch. I think Ken's heads need to be treated as a billet head and have coolant passages drilled and intersected as required. Then it could be built into the CNC program along with the runners. Ken, as for not posting any info on your heads goes you really can't expect people to fork out a bunch of money without seeing pic's and flow sheets do you? What do they say on the web? Pic's or it never happened:laugh:
I agree and I am not asking for anyone to send a dime yet. We have been working on these projects for a long time and I doubt if anyone saved a dime. Our (lets call them) 600cfm heads are now being worked on. These are cast heads. Machine work and porting will start after Christmas. So We will have these soon. Nothing will work for those who use S2 heads now. Will anyone run a class where billet heads cannot be used. It will be cheaper to weld up any water jackets in TA heads than do a couple sets of billets, then they can run any class. Mike thinks his guy could just make a few mods. We only need water around the exhaust valve. Remember we are not running any water now in our iron block! Anyone can fly out here and take a look but no pics right now. Just protecting my investment, nothing personal. When the rockers are mounted then we will take a pic.
This is Mike's current casting that has the extra bolt holes by the exhaust ports and the provision to add an extra row on the intake side that will work with his Tomahawk block. We will put our own pushrod holes and intake bolts due to our blower they will be vertical. I believe his standard Stage 2 exhaust bolts and gaskets will work.
Soon I hope, We did not go crazy on the exhaust because I feel we don't need to. I also think someone could do a little better than we did. We are using 11/32" valves and a blower. Since we have started on the next generation head ( up to 600 cfm int), I am not spending any more money on these. Only rockers.
