bunch of magazines tested the 2013 accord v6 and the best time I think was 14.0 around 101 mph.

I'm not too sure how old you guys are. I was drag racing and street racing in the 60's + early 70's. A 14 second flat car was a pretty fast car for a stock car. That Accord would have smoked a LOT of musclecars back then. I have a friend with a late model Shelby. Took it to the track at Epping, it ran high 10's over 120 for 5-6 runs. Laugh all you want, maybe not an Accord, but... there are some screaming fast cars being built now. The musclecars you see running now at FAST + Musclepalooza are no where near stock. Nobody ran that fast back then.

    Oh, yes they did. Well........at least that's what I hear. Why I knew a guy, whose brother-in-law's neighbor's girlfriend's uncle's dog's veterinarian's cousin had a.....................and they NEVER got beat!
I hear so many of the BS stories. I was around back then and I sold race parts for a living. If you had a 12 second car, on the street, you were considered a badass. 10's or even 11s and you were tops.

My 57 Chevy L/S 283 with a single four barrel was running 13.70's at over 100 pre 1973, and my 67 327 K/SA Caprice was even faster in 73, 13.40's at 107. I street raced with both of them. There were a lot of big block cars on the street that couldn't even come close.

well gentlemen the cars have got lighter and far more technical BUT NOTHING and I mean NOTHING sounds like those muscle cars of the 60's and early 70's

those Rice Poppers (aka Honda's) sound like a cat in a tin can! i just spent the last 30 minutes remenbering some FANTASTIC times, surprised no one (in our group) died at those races.

Girls with Big hair LOL, tight jeans, and Boys all heaped up on beating their friends (and not so friends) down that 1/4 mile road. It was as close to heaven as we could see.

Thanks you the NUDGE to remember those times!!!!!

A new Mustang GT will run 12.8 to 13.5 depending on the driver completely un tweaked stock with 302 cubes and factory 3.15 rear end gears many other modern cars are also quite fast .Very few 60's and 70's muscle cars would run that in the day absolutely pure and un tweaked .A v6 Honda given was a poor example .
