Do we not have a smiley eating popcorn on this board? Cause that's what I'm doing after this call out! This could get good!

BuickMD??? does that indicate he's a Buick doctor??? :Dou: Nevertheless, his is obviously an opinion based on??? At just 11 posts, Im certain he did NOT read this entire thread... :Do No: Open mouth. Insert foot. We've all been there.

Moving forward, I AM VERY MUCH FIRST IN LINE for the what I've read First Hand, heard from the horses mouth, and I only want the BEST NAILHEAD ROLLER ROCKERS IN AMERICA... whenever Tom gets the production up'n runnin'!!

All I can say is a BIG THANK YOU to all who support my efforts. No one hears of the bad associated with any of this, only the good. I KNOW of at least a half dozen cases where these have been a major problem of concern. And yes, there have been a problem with "MY" Roller Rockers. That's why we are going through the pains to make absolutely certain they do what they are intended to do, PLUS. It has been proven over & over again by many not associated with myself in any way other than purchasing one of the beginning runs.
Again, THANK YOU to EVERYONE for the support. Eventually it will come out. For the time being I will keep my trap shut. I don't want to fall into a word war & will not say anything condescending about ANYONE.

As far as I know NO ONE has posted any dyno or even seat of the pants comparisons. Out of all that has been supposedly sold not one comment except for the one on 65GS.com. There are others who also frequent this board who NOT have posted any problems, good or bad, that has been experienced.

Please let me know how I can put a deposit on a set. I am not in a rush because I have my project on hold.

I was able to track down a set from 2008 that never got installed on a motor. However, I think Tom is coming pretty close to having this next set done.....

That said, I think Tom is gonna be a busy boy next few months....building motors and moving his shop (and parts cars!)

I went down there to see him today, and saw he was wrapping up the nailhead for John Codmans truck. Pretty nice build, and looks beautiful!

The plan is to get those rockers on shafts over the next couple weeks, and on the motor and adjusted in late August. Planning on a back-to-back stock rocker vs. Tom's test at LVD in late September.

Also back-to- back testing of my Doc modded Q-jet manifold vs. the sewer-sized port job that Bob from St. Louis did for me.

And ALSO back to back tests of my 750 and 800 CFM Q-Jets.

Gonna be one busy day! You figure between all that, I'll find a sweet spot.

That should be a pretty awesome day Rhett. I can't wait to see the results.

I went with a buddy to pick up his newly supercharged 2013 Camaro the other day and it just so happened the shop has a Dynojet that they tune all their cars on. And come to find out they are pretty reasonable on dyno time and not too far from work. Sooooo, it looks like once we get the race car back together we might be making a trip to the dyno to see what it does and do a little tuning. Car has never been on the dyno before so should be an interesting experience. Time to pull out the leaf blowers to simulate the ram air working at speed!!

Well, the rockers are in the car, thanks to Tom for coming up and helping me check clearances and also blueprinting the rocker assemblies. I'm trying to figure out how to post before and after idle videos in the Nailhead sound thread, but until then here are the links:

    Before:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5eyA1C4C04
(don't mind my ugly mug at the beginning)

    After:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUZTBf3TTMg

Those aren't live links, you'll have to cut and paste the we address....

We didn't have any clearance issues with the stock pistons and heads, and they adjusted pretty easy. I did have to bring my valve spring pressure up from 156 @ .050/1.1 to 205. With the heavier rockers it was floating valves at about 4800 rpm. I bought a set of Carmen Faso's "Hydraulic 1" springs and mixed/matched till I got the pressure I was looking for - I wound up using the new outers and my old inners shimmed .060. I wanted to be conservative on spring pressure because my old lifters are weak, and collapse pretty easy when the car sits. Tom can chime in on the gains we saw in lift, but I want to say it was .060 on the intake and .080 on the exhaust...cant remember which.

I can honestly say the car is noticeably quicker, especially in the mid-ranges. We'll know how much quicker in a couple weeks, when we get to Lebanon Valley for a test/tune day where Tom and I will test the rollers against my stock rockers back to back. In the meantime, I've just been driving the car normally, making sure no further adjustment is needed and I don't start collapsing lifters. Good so far, and sounds boss! In traffic, it's as docile as it ever was, and I've run it with both my Doc modded and Bob modded intakes, and both the 750 and 800 Qjets. Full test results to follow after the track day on 9/26. Stop up to LVD if you want to watch or help turn an wrench. If you want to run too, I can forward the rental info, the roster is only half full as of last week.

And Tom noticed that while I was able to bring it past 5000 rpm, it really made a better power band transition at 4800 so I messed with the governor again this am, now it shifts at 4900 with a pronounced bark from the tires.

Again, hats off to Tom, he's a class act and an innovator. He has forgotten more than most of us will ever know, and has an incredible eye for detail and hidden HP. I'm very fortunate to have him live this close and be generous enough with his time to give me a hand. Truly a legend in the field.

That's about what I measured on my stock '66 cam....0.066" gain on the intake and 0.073" gain on the exhaust.:TU:
Tom's RR will give you the extra ratio, whereas the TA RR give you the same 1.6 ratio as stock.... and no lift gains.
