I need to replace the pass rear trunk drop, Someone put a new quarter on this car years ago and did not replace the trunk drop or straighten the trunk floor area by the trunk drop. I see Performance Years Pontiac has one for GTO 66/7 and it states you need to modify the rear slightly for 67. Has anyone used Pontiac trunk drops when repairing rear quarters on a 66 Skylark, or is Old a better fit? As far as I can tell no one makes the correct one for Buick. I was thinking if the Pontiac one would work, could get a RT side trunk floor for a 6677 and use part of it with the trunk drop. Other option is to find a 66 skylark with a good trunk drop and about 9 inches of trunk floor front to back, because I need the complete trunk drop, mine had damage front and back. Any thoughts would be helpful, thanks Bill.
i was told the gto ones would work with a slight mod not got into it yet. the trunk floors are the same on both.
Thanks for the input. I hope someone will respond that has installed one and can verify, thanks Bill.
Todd, thanks for the reply. As I said in the post I would need the complete pass side trunk drop and about 9 inches of the trunk floor. Best to cut down center of tail light area and across the outer quarter just above the trunk floor, and about 9 inches of trunk floor and cut about 12 inches of lower wheel well. Just need all the trunk drop and floor in one piece to remove spot welds from the other sections. Any body style would work. The problem is If you have a nice rear clip it would not make sense to cut up for just the drop. Let me know, thanks Bill.
Hey Bill, I would rather sell the whole thing, might be a little far for you too. Near Milwaukee WI. Let me know, thanks.
