Need some thoughts about this 69 Riviera offer..

    I know, but the condition of the car seems to be really good. What did you think is this car worth?

    I think if you shop around, you can get a car equally as nicer for a lot less.

    Whats it worth? Whatever someone is willing to pay for it. if it looks as nice in person as it does in the pictures, I wouldn't pay more than 18k for it personally and that's pushing it

    The car is nice for sure, but for 68-69 Rivs, it is certainly a buyers market. I would keep looking, you will score a better deal for a car of similar condition. For a 68-69 to command more than 20K is extremely rare. You can find beautiful drivers for sub 15,000.

    I agree with Louie and Jason
    it's a very nice car
    $15,000-$18,000 is more realistic

    69GS400s ...my own amusement ride!

    My opinion is .. for that kind of money on a 68/69 Riv, it better be the nicest one you can find with the options and color you want.

    I highly doubt this one is going anywhere quickly at that price .. so do some serious searching on the net and put a "wanted' ad here on this site..

    .. something like "Nicest 68/69 Riv wanted .. serious buyer"

    That one is REALLY nice. If that's what you want, (and the AC blows cold and the headlight lifters work, among all the other electrics) it will be hard to find a better one. Expensive, yes.

    I agree with the others. 20K is about the very most a second gen riv is going to bring. Id also beware of the claim all original. The 69 did not come with TA valve covers and a high rise intake. Also the paint looks like a 2 stage base/clear. The factory used single stage enamel. It looks like a really nice car but not for that money.

    "All original" other than all of the changes. I would have a hard time trusting the dealer based on their all original claim
    With the fuel line coming up to the engine from passenger side, it must have electric fuel pump.

    That particular dealer seems to overprice his cars.I would bet that an offer direct to the dealer, after its off E-Bay would get it for less.

    Correct, 69 Riv's came with electric fuel pump.

    Cool, didn't know that. See, I learned something. But I bet they didn't come with aluminum intake, valve covers and billet distributor.

    70 Riviera too, but no other Buick 69's or 70's , and I don't think other GM makes either. In 71 They went back to the old mechanical pump...anybody know why? I have never heard that the the electric was problematic.

    Its a neat set up too because there is an access panel in the trunk. You can remove the fuel pump/ sender assembly in literally minutes. No fuel tank removal required. It always scared me they put a rubber fuel line right above the hot manifold. Its a big piece of line too. Runs from the bottom of the fender to the intake manifold. Gotta be 2 feet long.

    '69 was the first year for an electric fuel pump, and the fuel line was routed to the passenger side of the engine, right over the exhaust manifold. :eek2:
    While it's a very nice 'turn key' car, that may be overpriced - what would it cost to restore one to this condition ? :Do No:
    Caveat emptor - "All original" used in the description, may not apply ! :TU:
