so my combo is right at 12.00 the DA did not change much 3100-3300DA water 23-20 temp 75-95 as the DA went up the air got dryer ran 12.03 MORNING - 11.93 AFTERNOON. ***i'm shifting on the collum at 5500. i dont know what jets are in the 1050. question is would less timing and richer mixture make a more consistent car. i aways get water temp @140 on the line. 60'@1.66-1.64 Cheers!
Lean side is more consistant but I'd rather be rich and take advantage of good air when it comes in. It will involve adjusting dial more but it is safer. When I ran on the lean side sometimes I would see exhaust temp as high as 1900! I like to keep it 1300 to 1600 deg.
If your leaving on a 2 step you can raise or lower your rev limiter to change your numbers at the top end of the track Taking out or adding timing is another way but more invasive than what I like to do between rounds. I have an adjustable rev limiter on the dash next to my tach.
i was watching a video where they showed cars running methanol so rich that is was coming out of the exhaust pipes raw. they went on to say it was super consistent even puking raw fuel. "but not with pump gas" ????? thats the question.
As long as you are on either side of lean/max power on the curve it will be consistent. Too rich washes the cylinder walls and too lean is risky from detonation. So I guess lean with plenty of octane might be the way to go for consistency.
