I have looked at this, it doesn't work in stock form. If one were to cut and modify the outlets, something custom might be based on the remaining cast iron port sides, but at that point you're better served making a complete custom manifold set imo. It's a good thought though.
Is there any bolt on kits available from anywhere? I have searched all over the net and am coming up with info but no available kits. Single or twin kits....I want to go the turbo route but don't want to make my own.
Nope.. My old car will be up for sale soon though. A fully running, fully functional. Complete car that make grown men giggle.
As ive said b4 I can fab up any setup be it twin or single, Id recommend a single tho , a bolt on hot side will run about $2k 1 5/8 tubular headers, merged into a t4 or t6 in mild steel with Vband connections . A complete kit is no problem either just depends on how many engine accessories were working around
So, Sean and Mark.. Did anyone ever use this? Does it really fit? Is this a prototype of the single turbo kit Mark will be making?
It was a design that mark had built for a Skylark for James Love (the guy who had the twin turbo 455 Camaro called Skymaro) then shipped it to him and I am not sure if it ever got used. I like the idea of keeping the manifolds in place for a low budget system. I am glad that Ethan is going that way with his custom build. The new single kit will be based off tubular manifolds similar to these ones: Click the links having trouble posting the pic today: The first pic shows how tight it is on the drivers side as you have been trying to explain to people... Not many headers will fit in there and you can thumb through the other pics in my album. Mark says he should have done this design from the start it was simple, fit great, and it proved to work great at the track and on the dyno with low 11s in a heavy car. http://smg.photobucket.com/user/seanbuick76/media/DSCN4082_zps26e73f34.jpg.html?sort=3&o=6
