Here's a neat little tool I got off Ebay. Lets see how good you guys are! Can anyone guess what it is?
looks like it could "jack" or spread something apart. Or, looks like it could be a Jack with adjustable height for clamping parts on a machine table. Woooohoooo, my 1000th post! Troy
No, no threads in the large hex Your getting warm! Not for a pulley No I'll give you guys a hint, its specific to an A body
Looks like something I have lying around in my garage and forgot what the heck it was for but am keeping it because I know someday I might need it.
Winner winner chicken dinner!! Yes, its a ball joint separator. Kent Moore J-23742. Its in the service manual. It goes in between the tow ball joint studs. The large end fits on top of the castle nut and the small end is cupped to push against the tip of the tapered stud
I had to get one of those not long ago. Same tool, but made by someone else. Life would've been easier if I had had it from the beginning of my rebuild, but I managed with a pickle fork. The main reason I got it was because after I finished the front end it sat too low, so I had to take it apart again and add spacers. It was well worth the money to avoid tearing up the brand new dust boots with the pickle fork. I'll most likely never use it again lol, but it worked very well. Definitely a better way to go, over beating the hell outta your car
There's one on ebay now for $90.00. That tool is actually part of a 2 piece set. No need to buy KM anymore, there are many like it sold by Jegs, Summit and others. https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Howe-Racing-Enterprises-2154-Ball-Joint-Spreader-Tool,47367.html https://www.jegs.com/i/Wehrs-Machine/944/130-1/10002/-1
