Gary Am going to try and get le Sabre jacked up later today and the gas tank removed. Kind of hot today supposed to be 102 - 105 F. So am going to try and do it later in day around 5 or 6 pm. At least it's not humid here. This time of year. You do want this metal (trunk floor)? Just want to confirm before doing this work. Bob C Any interest in reverse light lens? They are somewhat faded, but not broken.
yes I want the floor as long as its solid and is the same floor as my 71. Thanks, much appreciate all that you do.
Absolutely! Faded is fine. In fact, I forgot to also ask about the red brake lens covers - if these aren't broken/chipped, I wouldn't mind buying those too. Thanks! -Bob C.
I could use the AC compressor cover that sits on the passenger side at the front of the compressor and covers the pulley. Also on the AC condenser, I need the 2 flat washers and rubber insulators with bolts that hold the top of the condenser at either end to the radiator core support. I also need the plastic wire loom heat shield that sits on the upper passenger valve cover side. (runs the length of the valve cover) And last, I need the engine hoist loop that sits at the front of the motor to the left of the distributor (both of these parts are for a 455) Thanks for all the effort getting these parts for us Cheers Robert
gary b the trunk floor is almost out, I did separate the trunk pan from the fuel tank brace today. the middle of this trunk has a "hump" on it , it must be for some kind of "evaporative" thing with the fuel tank float that did not exist in your 71. so this floor does not have the middle section the same as yours.
Hi Dave, I can answer this for Bobc455 with a positive yes - that red resistor pack is what we are after. Thanks! -Derek
Having just redone the trunk floor and gas tank in my '73 - that 'hump' gives space for the fuel lines from the pickup to come forward to the rise over the axles where they connect to the chassis tubes.
Unfortunately I don't have a '71 to compare it to. I know the spare tire sits up on that hump, and it gets tucked up pretty far under the rear deck, but I assumed it was really just there so the fuel lines had some space off the top of the tank. The gas tank has a matching hump rising up out of it. Maybe it was for extra fuel capacity? Prepping the new gas tank by deekster_caddy, on Flickr
That is the tank I put in my '73 LeSabre last winter. The extra hole is for the aeromotive fuel pump kit we added. Since we were rebuilding the whole trunk floor from swiss cheese, we added a hatch for easy access for future fuel pump replacements... so hopefully I should never have to drop that tank again!
Bob C - these are the suitcase parts - blower resistor, hardware, and tube to blower motor. Gary B - let me know if you want the R trunk floor section, before I go to the effort to finish the deed.
