In my inability to satisfied with anything I have I decided to push my poor little stock rod engine a little further wish me luck ha Was going to drop compression and change cam to better accommodate the blower, but after some words of encouragement and a hard night of Dos Equis XX consumption I said to hell with that so I'm gonna be running 11.25compression with around 6lbs of boost non intercooled just e85, tuning window will kinda small but will should be absolutely violent HP, not going to load it hard at the track till it gets a new bottom end so it will just be terrorizing the street till then. NA HP is around 650 and 6lbs will probably bump it up juuuust a tad ha. Working on rounding up a F1 head unit now until then I'm just gonna ride the bracket and crank pulley around, that should provide extra motivation to get something hung on it
Keep us posted. I was gonna try a F2 on a 11.0 motor with inter cooler and meth injection then realized my 'nads weren't big enough to chance it. I have a new 9 to 1 motor with blower cam on the stand right now and going to run 6psi , feel more safe now. But will be interested in your experience. Hope it works for you. Gary
I think as long as I don't rattle it , and keep the rpm in check it will live for awhile, oh yea its ungirdled too, does have billet main caps and a half fill tho
I have run 17 lbs of boost with 11/1, on E85 in a coyote engine on an NA long block and never had any issues. As long as everything is right it shouldn't be a problem.
I'm thinking of bumping my L6 engine up to 9.0-9.5:1 compression for the turbo application. The only thing that makes me nervous doing so is the iron head. 11+ ought to be fun!
Gonna have him do a new 4150, as scary looking as a blow thru Dominator is , Eric said he feels better about doing a 4150 and that way I can sell the Dominator or just set it on the shelf in case I have to go back NA for one reason or another
I think Bob Makley found it necessary to pull a bunch of timing at launch and then ramp it back in:laugh: You might need to do that. He had an MSD Digital 7 ignition.
Had to a few little things to suit my needs, milled .200 off the stands so I could use a PS bracket as an attachment point for the engine strut. And as a bonus by doing this I can use the two extra 3/8-16 holes to help stiffen the bracket even more. And of course the back plate wouldn't clear the Mallory comp 9000 so it had to be modded a touch, then there are two bolts the were made to pass thru both brackets but one interfered with one of the head stands so I tapped the holes to eliminate that issue. Then the water pump pulley issue arose but I think I've found a March pulley that will resolve that hurdle. Nothing major but goes to show nothing is ever easy seems like ha. Ignore the bolt with a stack of washers its just temporary hope to find some stainless ARP hardware to dress it up a touch I hate hardware store bolts with a passion
A carb from Eric at HorsePower innovations , SM pro hat with a 1in spacer and a F1 series blower will round out the setup.
You will be fine at low boost like that. Just don't detonate it. Try to shift at 6k or less. It will live. I shift mine at 6k and it is stock block with a halo. All mine have broke from detonation. I learned the hard way that you do need a large return fuel line.
F1c-94 Procharger will be here Thursday, Eric is started on the Carb, gonna be about 3weeks on it. He's doing a 950hp E85 with billet base plate and blocks, and I went ahead and opted for Satin black powder coat. Can't decide on the Carb hat, the Pro series Procharger hat looks awesome and should provide more good clearance, but EVERYONE screams how well the EV hats work...did discover another option on the bypass valve that is good bit cheaper than a "Big Red" and is a proven product. Hope to have it up and going by end of August. Pics will follow here very soon
Just waiting on Carb to get back everything else is complete, new throttle cable, bracket,Carb adapter, relocate fuel regulator, re-engineered the blower bracket for more rigidity etc etc. Can't wait to hear it fire up.
Just email the pics to you PC confuser's email account, then save them to the confuser, post, easy peasy. Derek
