70 GS 350 Upper Radiator hose

    Hi All,

Looking for the best option to use on a upper radiator hose for my 70 GS 350. I saw some old threads already but most were older. Any good options now?

    Thanks

Nope. I think a good used hose is your only choice at this point

And I think Gates Rubber still makes them.

Here is what I know or seen on all this:

The Rock Auto w\ dual snorkel is a flex hose and I'm hoping not to go that route.
Continental molded 60674 doesn't say what it fits but people here says its tight to shroud
Gates 20980 has been used by some here but not sure on the fit though( I believe this is part number for 1969 GS 350).

All I see on their site listed w/dual snorkel are the generic flex hoses
not the molded ones, they do have one molded one that didn't say one way or another by continental
but I'm not sure it will work or not,I should have stated clearer what I ment

I purchased this Gates upper rad hose from Rockauto. The Gates # is 20869 and is identical to the upper rad hose on my '72 GS. Perhaps '70 vs '72 is different but I doubt it. Lower Gates rad hose # is 20597

I think 70 is different as it didn't rest tightly on the edge of the fan shroud with a strap like 72, it was out from the shroud on a hook.

If I remember correctly, you can cut the 20869 hose on the radiator side to adjust the hose position. That hose fits a lot of cars.

Sounds good let us know. Depending on your results I will buy the Gates 20980 and see how it fits lol.

Isnt the 20980 the big block hose?

possibly...from other threads it's the hose for a 1969 gs 350 w/o snorkel that works for 70 gs. I verified that it is the 1969 gs 350 hose. After that I will try the continental lol

Based on the picture the ACDELCO 26005X or ACDELCO 26028X might be a candidate as well.

So I was out and about and found a gates 20980. Well it will work but not with the hook. It hugs tight to the shroud. Here is pictures of a original hose and the 20980 on my car. I will hang it on the wall and use if desperate unless someone needs it. LOL I will update again once I try another. P1010429.jpg P1010430.jpg P1010431.jpg P1010432.jpg P1010433.jpg

Just an update... the closet hose I have found is this one. I had to cut about 2-3 inches off of it as well. This hose is the ACDELCO 26028X It still runs high on the hook but at this point I think it will have to work and be close enough. I still have the original GM hose and the picture attached shows the grooves cut into it. I suspect the power steering hose was a little loose and I must of hit some high RPM's  and it dug into the hose. If anyone else finds something better let me know and I will put the dual snorkel on it this weekend and see if it clears. thanks
