I just had 2 of these guy's getting on touch with me.I did answer a aid for somebody that was looking for a pair of 10 inch rims with 4 3/4 backspace. So I told him I had a set,the back space was not right.so...Anyway,I get this E.Maol from Ian Hadary asking me to send him my phone #,as he has a set of rims, and they are the ones I'm looking for......He even has an address:Ian Hadary ,Ian Auto Sales Dearborn,MI.48124. USA.Just the fact that he puts in USA is suspicious .The other one tells me that there's a problem with my account with Bank of America,I would say he's right as I never had anything to do with that Bank.I should send him all this info, on and on .Bruno.

Thanks for posting this information Bruno. I just tried to look up an Ian Hadary and the guy that sent you that email is not registered under that name, he's registered under something else. Without his screen name, we cannot find him to ban him. If you have that, please post it and we'll take care of him pronto.

    Thanks again!

The same scam has been going on over at AACA/BCA forum.
The AACA has done a lot weeding out.
So, maybe the scammers are moving here.

I received a message from "911registry" also. I tried to respond that I found what I needed already but it failed to send. I'm guessing he had already been banned. I was already suspicious anyways, as he wanted a response by email. RED FLAG! You can never be too careful.

He hit me up this morning... here is what he sent me via PM:

I am clearing out extra spares as well as a couple of abandoned projects waiting to be stripped. Let me know clearly what you are looking to purchase and a contact phone number. I'll check for available spares and get back to you Asap. E-mail me on earlynewman@gmail.com

    Many thanks again and regards,

Usually any message containing the words regards, still available, kindly,my personal email,Nigeria, benefactor, car fax history payment, money gram, personal check, and so forth ends up as regret. I can't believe all the scams I have seen lately. I really do not see why we tolerate it as a society. How hard is it to track down an IP address and Internet provider?

Mods and Admins can ban the bad guy, but we must first have either a user name or IP address to do so. Without one of those pieces of information we can't look up our old friend Ian or any other problem child. Give one of those and they'll be gone in a flash.

It doesn't seem like it is much of a problem on this site, but I know on larger sites like eBay it is getting crazy. If law enforcement worked with site administration from several large sites it should be easy to remedy, but it does not seem to be an issue to anyone other than the scammee(is that a word?). At least on here people can forewarn others.

These are the same asshats who used to shoplift or write stolen checks. They just found an easier way to steal that law enforcement does little to catch them. They can be traced by govt agencies, but it seldom happens.

It really doesn't take much effort to spot the scams if you are even a little bit careful. When you are in a hurry, desperate, or want to act fast, that's when you need to step back/ chill and think on it a little before proceeding with a purchase. If at all possible, a face to face transaction is always best.

Beware...He was back at it. Yesterday he tried to hit me up in regards to my ad in Parts Wanted, as I am looking for a Tomahawk Block & Billet Crankshaft. I notified JW and he took action promptly. Still hits you up with 911registry@gmail.com. His new user name is "raceshops" and still has the "James Green USA" signature. He was requesting an email response and a working phone number.
