Wanted- 1972 Buick "fancy colors in sound" demo 8 track tape

I have that hanging out of my 8-track for Car Shows! Great minds think alike?

 

Haha, I was just going to mention that you did.

I've been keeping my eye out for an 8 track for my car so I could do the same at the shows. Everyone always points it out on yours:

"The black car is nice but LOOK HONEY! THIS ONE HAS AN 8 TRACK! REMEMBER 8 TRACKS!!!!A;LSKGJA;LSDKFASDFA;LDKFKLSDHG!!!!!!!!"

 

Some of these say 1973, but I think the listings are wrong. The one listed for $99 is off his rocker. p

Just signed up to post this, I found one of these tapes at an estate sale. Had it restored by a friend who's an expert, new pads and the foil was replaced in addition to a new roller. Sounds spectacular.

The "Fancy Colors in Sound is NOT the appropriate tape for 1972, it is dated 1972 bas it was produced in late 1972 for the 73 model year , it is correct for 1973.. The correct and proper tape for 1972 is "A Sound Step Ahead"

 

Damn, now I hate you because I have to find that one now for my 72...….ugggggg.

 

It is MUCH harder to find, don't know why but the "Fancy Colors in Sound" are very common, maybe 73 was when 8 track popularity hit its stride

I paid 50 cents for mine '73 tape.

 

Yep, as I said, 73 tapes are prevalent and good deals can be had, you still usually pay decent money for a sealed one though. Finding the earlier ones is a real challenge 67-70 is a real challenge
