Wondering about these Predator carbs and if they make any difference in performance or mileage.

They look like the cube in the movie Hellraiser! I have never met anyone who used one.

Never used one, I haven't seen one in the Summit Catalog in YEARS!
Werent they a variable venture type carb?

I don't think they are made anymore. Even the predator home website doesn't list carbs in their available products section, just rebuild kits. I can say the majority of things I've ever heard about them were less than glowing (with a few exceptions here and there). But I'd say unless you're going for a pure "weird" factor, I wouldn't bother. They've gone the way of the dodo for a reason imho.

I believe those were based off of the old Kendig carb from the 60's. A funnycar racer named Dale Bartlett bought the Predator company back in the early 80's when I was working at the Oyster Creek plant by Toms River. He ran a speed shop (remember those :) ) I don't think he ever did much with the company. I've heard if you could tune them they'd run good full throttle but the part throttle metering wasn't 100%. The original Bigfoot ran them, 3 at one point!
