I have a 70 GS full weight stoked 455 W/ 777 chp & 767 lbs tq @ 4700 rpm t-400 w/ a 5000 VP converter , the car wouldn't hook off line . est of 10.70 @ 126.9.@ 4150 lbs it should mph around 130, then I switched converter to a try shield 4500 haven't been back to track yet . it had a stock geometry with a 9' ford rear end 3.90 with stock shocks ( yea I know ) but mostly street driven . now I want to see with coil overs QA-1 double adjustable , and I'm putting another housing with upper & lower adjustments . so my question IS should I set up the bars aggressive ? lower bar pointing up like 3-5 deg then the upper bar 2 ' higher than stock ??:3gears::3gears:

Can you get the lower bar level? What tire? What you got for springs ? Front suspension

You actually want the lower bar as close to level as possible, and control the hit with the uppers. But regardless I would start with similar to stock settings and see how it reacts with the shocks. If you are on a decent track you can go 1.30's with stock stuff and good shocks and springs

ok I lowered the rear over a 1.25" to get bottom bar level it is now about 5deg up still and pinon angle is about 3 deg negative . the tire is a MT 10.5 drag radial rear springs are 150# QA-1 dual adjustable front springs are coil overs w/ 550 springs and dual adjustable too . I was hoping to get a good hook on launch as a street car 10.5 or better with the torque mtr makes , and thanks for input !!!
