I have seen some rear door panels with an extra screw toward the rear of the quarter window. In this post there are some rear panels with the extra screw hole. What is correct for 71 GS? Thank you for input! Troy
Never seen 70-2 with that screw location since the panel engages the inner steel structure window edge and basically snaps in place using the front two spring pins.
Thank you George! I've not seen that screw very often, but mine has one in the same location as Wheelz's panels in the link. I wonder why some have this screw and others do not? Troy
The more I look, the more often I see these screws in the rear door panel. This image is my car when I purchased it. On Mr Steele's page, there is a Green with white interior survivor 72 with the same screw in the rear door panel. http://www.gsrestorations.com/wst_page2.html I know "survivor" means different things, but, here's another http://www.ebay.com/itm/1972-Buick-...ash=item41bf81f0a7:g:7NUAAOSw4A5Yvctd&vxp=mtr https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/dealer/buick/gran-sport/1836951.html#&gid=1&pid=31 https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/cars-for-sale/buick/gran-sport/1890179.html#&gid=1&pid=24 More input from 71-2 experts would be nice. Troy
Yes, those are the two front mounting locations. I'm searching for details about the one located near the top of the rear door panel, near the headliner windlace for the side/rear window. Troy
I'm fairly certain you will not find the extra screw on the 70 model. I believe this is a extra screw in 71-72? Troy
I have a 72 wood grain with and, without a screw hole... I have a 70 deluxe without. 70 standard without also. All my 71's have it...
