I could drive by a hundred dealers now-a-days and barely turn my head. If I saw that my front tire would be off the bead I'd be turning so hard to pull in.
Those old colour shots are cool; - nice to see the world wasn't black and white before I was born. When you've looked at so many black and white shots, you kind of get the feeling the whole world was that way, which of course it wasn't. But for anyone who is younger than 50 it's hard to imagine otherwise since everything they'd have ever seen would have been in colour. Keep 'em coming, this is a great thread, I'm loving these colour shots!:TU:
I'd love to see the details of that "boat" below the water line. I see they don't have on life jackets. I would.
Gotta get me one of those boats! However, I don't think it's still running the straight 8; - at 3570 redline it wouldn't be going very fast and the motor was the heaviest part of the car. Cool pics; one wonders what happened to all of that interesting iron; - we know most of the buildings in Vegas got blown up...

I'm surprised they did make it; I thought 1959 Buicks dissolved on contact with water. I have yet to see one that isn't rotten or patched up like a quilt.
Going to float these out for Monday review. It's been a fun run. I will probably delete the pictures on this thread by COB Wednesday for the Thursday shutdown so if there are any pictures you'd like to capture I might suggest doing it today or tomorrow.
Wow Brian! That was a heck of a run! I for one can appreciate the effort it takes to post pics and you did a bang up job. Thanks from the frozen tundra! Bill in TR
Excellent pics again Brian - Last pic is great. Bygone era :ball:- Many Kids today are seen staring at cell phones and play station
Thank You, again, Brian. 1st pic reminds me of the winters back as a youngster. 7th pic has twin to my '67 Skylark in the background.
Yea funny how these pics trigger memories. I'll never forget winters when I was in my teens going out clearing the snow from the 67 Riviera and then a 70 Coupe Deville, hoping my winter tires would get me to work and back 30 miles one way. Had open an differential and with the big heavy front those cars sucked in the snow. Looking back I'm amazed I made it through so many snow events. In cars of the era (70s), driving skills were very important in snow. With the advent of FWD and AWD, those cars are much more forgiving.
And, we had bias ply tires. The FWD and AWD cars make idiots think they are invincible. They drive too fast and way to close to the vehicle ahead, for the road conditions. What I was thinking. And he's standing on the door and seat top. Genius!
Makes you wonder what they had in mind for the roof of the wagon :idea2: Appreciate the kudos fellers...
Love the family photo with the 59 Buick. Can you imagine a family proud enough to line up in front of their new Leaf or Priuis today? Not much to celebrate when Dad brings home a new appliance on four wheels.
