Pulled my tank while doing some other work on the rear of my 72 Skylark Customer Convertible. Tank looks great from the bottom but found out its the original tank and lines are pretty rusty on top so figured I'd replace the tank, sending unit and the lines. It looks like the rubber lines are all 3/8 (correct?) and will replace the rubber and spring clamps. I want to replace these 3 vent lines. Does anyone make pre-bent lines with the correct ends (nub on the ends for the rubber to slide over and slide a spring clamp on)? These 3 lines come from the tank vents and go to the contraption under the rear seat and connect on both ends with rubber lines/spring clamps. Thanks
Unless the lines are completely corroded and ready to fall apart, I would just wire brush and paint them. No one makes them AFAIK. You could bend up your own I suppose.
I had a hard. Time finding them. I thing I ended up with opgi. Maybe the parts place. But they are made. Not much as far as being pictured online fuel vapor lines. 3 lines. 2 go to outer ports on tank from under seat. I think I got them in stainless. You have to call and ask. Opgi only shows the holder clamp.
Not that hard to bend up yourself. Looks like just one bend in those short pieces. To bubble flare the ends, just perform the first operation only of the double flaring process. And you don't even need to squash the tube down fully in the flaring tool.
I don't know how much of a rush your in, but if you like, you can send them to me and I'll bend them up. Just pay for the cost of the line and the return shipping. If I can make them from the scrap oieces I have left in my tubing drawer, you don't even need to pay me for the line. Once I get them, I'll have them back in the mail in a day or so
Jason you rock! Thanks so much for the offer but it looks like from a few responses I can have a pre-bent set shipped to my door for $28 and stainless lines for $42. It would probably cost that much to send to you and back and then the time to make them etc. As Always, I can't thank everyone enough for the help I receive on this site
