In the process of building my first Buick 455, so go easy on me. 4.342 bore, 3.912 stroke, 28 CC dish, 10.69 compression, 149 casting heads, 2.005/1.630 valves, flow numbers.
    Intake @ 28 inches SF 600 4.350 bore.

    .200 133
    .300 187
    .400 208

    Exhaust

    .200 89
    .300 120
    .400 141
    .450 149

The cam is a hyd flattappet, .398/.466 lift, unknown duration. Intake is a 403 casting factory Buick with a 1971 Buick Q-Jet. I plan on using TA shaft 1.55 ratio rockers. I have the short block finished and its a little rough. Working on the heads. Some pictures. Engine will be dyno tested and track tested in the near future.

    Mark,
If this build is anything like your Chevy builds, it will be impressive !!! Is this going into your Stocker ?
    Keep us posted.....

How bad are your Chevy customers ragging you about building a Buford ? But yea your oval port stuff is Stout no doubt

Man,those valve guide bosses are huge. I dont remember my 430 castings having so much meat around them. Are you going to use a CNC program to port them or by hand?

Being a stock classer not much can be done to the heads

This is the dyno test of the engine as it came out of the car before the freshen up. The car ran 11.35 @ 115.98 @ 5000 DA 28.00 baro, the car was right at 3500 pounds. Interestingly the heads supported 474 HP with 208 to 211.7 CFM @ .400 lift. So it makes sense the heads would be the first thing to look at as Troy stated. I also noticed the power is fairly wide through the range the car is run in.

I proceeded with the valve job, and of course after setting my valve depths there was one problem child, a seat that would not come in at the proper height after replacing all the guides, good thing I had seats made to fix this potential problem. I installed a intake seat, problem fixed. Valve job is done, CCs will be set at 59.5.

Nice! Did you have to mill the heads to achieve the CC size?

The cam is a hyd flat tappet with .398 intake lift, 466 exhaust lift, 253 @ .050 on the intake, 264 @ .050 on the exhaust 108 lobe separation. Heads are 1971 149 castings with 2.005/1.630 valves.
