Winner winner chicken dinner. Yeah, whoever owned the car or worked on it, cut the fusible links out. So if the car experienced a short circuit, it would of been ugly. The car would of likely burned to the ground
I just learned that you need not waste tape, or shrink sleeve, to cover the entire bare connection. I'd be afraid to look under the dash if the same 'mechanic' touched anything under it.
Whoever did this repair used about a half a roll of electrical tape. The yellow "R" wire was spliced. How you may ask? The two wires were twisted together and taped up. I had done some electrical work on my friend's Cutlass. The guy ho owned that car must of been an electrician. The whole car was full of wire nut connections. I was actually surprised when I didn't see any junction boxes under the dash
