My 68 Cat has a single 6x 9 speaker in the rear seat. I had planned to upgrade to Dual voice coil speaker from custom audio sound so when I upgrade the radio I would have stereo back there. Unfortunately, the Custom Audio Sound speaker is a tad big for the mounting bracket. I could hack it up but I hate to do it...I might be able to use the Retro Sound speaker but it has a paper cone...not ideal for a convertible... hoping someone has a better choice??

Are you able to fit two round 4 inches instead ??? If you have room ?

I put a pair of those to replace my single 4X10 in the front of my 68 Skylark

I've mounted 2 6X9 in the rear of my Electra.. The holes didn't match, so I took some longer bolts and dropped them in from the top, then put on a nut on each, the the speaker, and the a nut again.. that way the bolts can move freely, and open up like a ballet dancer.. The speaker sits ~1" under normal, but didn't hack, drill kg smash anything..
