SCO = Special Car Order, usually something out of the ordinary like GSX's in 1971. Your car is from Fremont plant (Z) and a very early build (08B = 2nd week of August, 1970) so I don't believe it's anything unusual. Your body number of 00048 means it was the 48th body built that year in Fremont.

    Z Fremont, CA assembly
00048 Fisher Body Number (no relation to VIN found on the dash)

Those other number are internal codes options, etc. Fremont seems to have these in abundance.

I didn't even look @ the body date Brad  - Makes Sense. We're all the SCO cars built in Flint (Seemingly I should know that)? I have one that has an SCO drivetrain option (rear axle) so it's not indicated on the cowl tag (and not a low body #) and normally, based on geography, I would think would've been built @ Framingham, but is a Flint car.

71 SCO cars are options that affect the car's Body and appearance/build at the Fisher body plants (such as color, seating, stripes, spoilers), at this stage of the build there is no drive train.

Just as Dan H said above. Also, it doesn't say "SCO" on the tag itself, just a low body number from Fisher Body.

Paul, if you place a "B" in place of the "8", I believe this will line up with tag decoders. Many times, "B"s are mistaken for "8"s and vice versa.

    ST70 - 1970 model year (Style)
    4 - Buick Motor Division
    44 - Skylark Custom
    67 - 2dr Convertible
    BF - Baltimore assembly
00392 - Fisher Body body number
BDY - Body (see the preceding body number)
TR - Trim (interior style and color)
    188 - Black bucket seats
25 - Lower color (Gulfstream Blue)
B - Upper Color - Black top color
    06B - Time built code (06-June, B - second week)
Lots of production codes mainly used by GMAD and not the home plant in Flint.

    Hope that helps.

I don't think there is a decoder specifically for Buick's. This info is available, but you've got to know where to look. For example, www.autocolorlibrary.com is where I look for exterior colors as well as the trim code colors. Also, Google can find a lot of this information if you put in some search terms. I put in, just now, "GM plant code B" and found Baltimore Assembly. Most of this comes from years of prior research.
