Well with the weather predicted I've decided to not go. I hope the event gets to run, just not worth the effort and expense for me to go slow in the heat, humidity, and low barometer. Bummin. I have a new carb I want to try out.
Be careful I got chastised when I said I would not go because of rain. That Buick nats has been rained out the past 3 years now. The last time when it was the real Buick nats only it rained out both times in the same year. That ended it right then and there.
Drove 600 miles for it last year, didn't even get to make a timed run due to weather. I'll be staying home this year!
I live just an hour away from the track, I was bummed when the rain moved in, but I honestly felt bad for the people that packed up, loaded up trailers, motorhomes, then set up camp for a fun time only to have to leave because of storms, THAT sucks
There was one year I went where we got halfway thru the runs then it started to rain. we packed up and left and I will tell you, it is no fun driving back home with drag radials in the rain. That car felt like it was going to go out from under me at any moment. Luckily like Demko I am only about an hour and a half away. Yes, it sucks. Today it will most likely rain right in the middle of the runs. I really miss going to these things it was a lot of fun, they have a really good track.
Looks like they did get it off but no one ran under 10 sec in the finals. Couldn't even get the name Toth Buick right, called it Both Buick. That is weak every one relies on a typewriter on the computer to do their spelling checks instead of looking at it. In my printing world this is a very bad no no for typos. But happens all the time now.
I was there! Raced Saturday and Sunday. Little hot, but no rain except early Saturday. I made my first pass on fresh motor. Drove it out, dropped air pressure to 14 lbs. And ran an 11.99! Thoroughly impressed.
