Hi all, Just acquired a 1971 LeSabre with a 350 - 4. What is the proper size battery Cold Cranking Amps that I should get for this car? Thank you very much for any help.
Thanks for the info. Yea, she is a sweetheart! The exact year make & model as the LeSabre Custom you sold me ...this one has 61K with original Silver Fern paint. How did that '58 turn out?
Nice!! I sold it half way through the resto. I bought a 58 Roadmaster with 58k miles...mostly original car. Flipped it, bought a 60 Electra 225 convertible...drove it for 2 years and sold it. Bought a 70 Skylark and currently driving it. And I bought a 64 Wildcat coupe...might be selling it tomorrow.
My philosophy is that the battery that you need has the highest CCA that will fit into the battery box/tray.
The old rule of thumb had been at least 100 more CCA than cubic inches. This is easily exceeded today; good luck finding an automotive battery rated at only 450 CCA.
